My Geek Box Subscription Review + Coupon – September 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

My Geek Box is a monthly geek and gamer box that ships from the UK. They have recently opened a US site as well – making it much easier to buy this box state-side.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Be sure to check out the past reviews and comments before buying – some have had troubles with cancellation and shipments.

The Subscription Box: My Geek Box

The Cost: $19.99

Also – they do GWP purchase offers from time to time – if one is active, it can be found here!

This subscription has no theme and no information cards – so it’s really just a mystery box of multiple geeky fandoms.

Mos Eisley Shirt – Value $15?

This month came with two shirts. The first is designed around the classic hard Rock Cafe t-shirt, only with Mos Eisley from Star Wars! This is a fun design – again, I like shirts that are a bit more subtle, and this one falls into that category.

Big Bad Bot Inc Shirt – Value $15?

I’m not sure what this fandom is – if you know, let me know in the comments!

Jake & Tree Trunks Figures – Value $7-10 on Amazon

Being a fan of anything Adventure Time, I was pleasantly surprised to see this figure set!

Get your adventure on with Jake the Dog and Tree Trunks! This little Jake the Dog is about as big as a Funko Mystery Mini – so around 3″ tall.

He’s pretty poseable, too!

Mickey Mouse Dorbz Figure – Value $10 on Amazon

Speaking of Funko – we also receive a figure from their Dorbz line – it’s Mickey Mouse.

Like all Dorbz, it’s built with the ‘Russian Nesting Dool” style torso and big, smiling facial features.

Your Pikachu Needs You Poster – Value $12.99 on Amazon

The value of this might be lower than what I could find on Amazon because the Amazon listing arrives rolled in a tube – this was folded, so you’ll be dealing with a creased poster.

Verdict: This box is always such a risk/reward box. You’ll be going into it with no idea of which franchises are featured – so it could be a huge win or a complete loss. At $20 a box, this definitely comes in over value – so that’s a plus – but it’s hard for me to really be excited about it because of how risky it is. Coupled with the fact that some commenters have had a tough time canceling – I think this is definitely something to research before buying.

  1. The robot on the shirt was in the movie The Incredibles. It was Syndrom’s robot that battled it out with Mr Incredible on the island 😉

    • I completely forgot about that and it’s one of my favorite Pixar movies. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched it!
