The theme for this box is “Possibilities”. The card says “Where shall we go?” so the inspiration for the curation this month must be travel (or just getting out and about!). I like receiving a card describing the items in the box.

Sharkskin Gray Canvas Bag – Value $11.29?

This handbag is really cute! The dimensions are 12″x11″x5″ so it’s a nice size and the outside fabric is thick and sturdy. I can not find this exact bag online, so I’ve linked to a similar style.

Geometric Scarf – $10?

This scarf looks great on and feels modern with the geometric designs. Despite this box being for older women the items don’t seem old lady-ish. Good news since I don’t feel old lady-ish either.

Bendy Necklace – Value $4.99

This isn’t exactly my kind of jewelry but my mother really liked it and so did my daughter (she’s 6 though). The concept is cool but I think it looks kind of cheap on. However, that could just be me since I don’t like a lot of costume jewelry.

Difeel Pomegranate Hand Cream – Value $4.89

This has a very nice scent and a non-greasy feel. It’s a great hand cream to carry in your purse. The price is right too!

Chocolate Therapy Handmade Artisanal Truffles – Total Value $9.00 ($2.25 each)

Isn’t the ladybug chocolate adorable? Such a fun addition to the box! We ate them (yes, I shared) but weren’t too impressed. The caramel one was excellent but the others were so-so.

Fearless Konenkii Flex Bottle – Value $2.41?

Another fun travel item! I love how compact this can get. I typically use a filtered water bottle while traveling and this is a great back up.

Joytop Love Journal – Value $3.00?

This is another cute addition to the box. My daughter wants to use it too, so I know we will put this journal to good use.

Plastic Cell Phone Card Holder – Value $1.91

This was not listed on the printed material, but all new Konenkii subscribers receive one in their first box. I received this card holder since this is my first box! I think it’s a great idea and works perfectly with this month’s theme.

I also received this coupon for $5.00 off any Konenkii purchase which I think is a nice addition.

Verdict: I have mixed feelings about Konenkii. Taking the items out of the box was fun! Everything matched and was well curated to the theme. The items do not seem particularly low quality despite the values. I know packaging and curating the box has value and I’ve guessed at a few prices, however, the items total to $47.49, which is below the $49.99 box cost. I love the idea of Konenkii and I think a box with this target market is needed, I just wish they would aim a bit higher. I think this box has a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next season holds!

What do you think of this quarter’s Konenkii?

  1. I can’t get passed the ladybug chocolate. It probably tastes good but eww

  2. I love the scarf and the bag, the rest if it just didn’t interest me. It is a rather high-priced box.
I’ve seen a few boxes reviewed that targeted certain age groups of older women and I just think that’s a really hard demographic to pinpoint. Contrary to popular perception, we aren’t a homogeneous group!

  3. I liked the idea of a box for us women over 40, but then I saw what they included. Should I be offended that everything seemed rather cheap and tacky? I bet I could get most of that stuff at the dollar store. The prices were a bit inflated, too, and still didn’t hit the $50 price of the box. Kudos to Shawn for sharing her true opinion, even if it wasn’t favorable towards the company. I’ve read some other reviews that seemed afraid to be honest about how lousy the items were.

    • I agree. I was really interested in the genre this is aiming for but underwhelmed with the contents. Are there any decently priced subs in this genre that are worth it? The ones I’ve found all seem to be skincare, the one thing I don’t need.
