This box has been available in their store for months now. I almost bought it for a gift. Is it me, or does it seem as if GlobeIn is being a little sketchy with their advertising lately? I want to love this co. but it’s making me nervous.

I 100% agree. Not only that, but the prices for the individual items in this announcement are misleading. Maybe these are the regular prices, but right now, most of these items are on sale in the GlobeIn shop. For instance:

1) Neem Wood Spice Bowl, India ($10).
2) Ilocano Asin Sea Salt, Philippines ($7).
3) Neem Wood Salad Grabbers, India ($10).
4) Turkish Kitchen Towel, Turkey (Retail $12).
5) Palm Leaf Bottle Basket, Mexico ($8).
6) GlobeIn Greeting Card (Retail $2).

Total cost: $49

Plus, you get an extra palm leaf basket (a $12 value) when you purchase three or more items and the total is more than $35, which is another thing that makes me question how good of a value this box is. I will concede that I don’t see the GlobeIn Greeting Card available for individual sale in the shop. Other than that, it seems to me that it would make more sense to buy these items individually if you really want them. I hate to be critical of this sub as I really like it and very much admire GlobeIn’s mission, but they have been doing some off-putting things lately.

I really think it is growing pains and a little fumbling. I am not worried about their integrity. Heck, I have gotten emails from Liza at 2 am her time on a Sunday! They had issues when they switched to a fulfillment house.

I would bet someone thought this would be a good hostess gift and they just re-branded it and put it out for the holidays as an LE since everyone else has an LE.

How do you mean?

Well, between the confusion/misleading with the new Club subscription, and this sort of re-branding old as new, it just seems a bit non-transparent. Perhaps they are just using suggested marketing strategies clumsily. I just prefer things to be straightforward. This is a nice box, and it was a nice box before, so why pretend it’s new? It’s put together from items from previous sub boxes, which is fine, as they want to give repeat orders to support the makers. It’s completely appropriate to advertise it for the upcoming holidays, etc.

I think, basically, that I’m glad I didn’t sign up for the new Club sub. as I already had the items they are sending, and that situation makes me leery of GlobeIn now.-
