for $390 you can almost buy a ticket to paris right now, and then you could go to the original Diptyque store and buy a candle!!

Next year! I figure if I start an Advent Calendar fund right now I can buy them all next year, LOL. I never wear perfume yet I’m lusting after the Diptyque and Jo Malone calendars!

I just got mine! Thanks to Karen here!
I ordered from their Beverly Hills store.

I don’t care about the price! Most of my family will be gone to Nigeria for the holidays and I need gifts and warmth and spiked Egg Nog to make it to January.

Hi KarenG & Abby!!! (I feel like you two are my luxe sista’s from another mista 🙂 )

I just decided this morning that I’m going to sadly pass on getting the Diptyque & Jo Malone calendars. 🙁 The Jo Malone was actually a bit easy to decide since I already have a ton of similar deluxe samples & mini candles (plus, I plan on purchasing some more fragrances (probably worth the cost of the advent calendar(!)) during Nordstrom’s 10-point event in early December).

The Diptyque was a tough choice… I only have experience with their candles, and would LOVE to try their skincare & other products, but at the risk of sounding like a “hater”, I personally just can’t justify spending that much on this advent calendar in order for me to sample their products (but, there’s seriously no judgment on my end toward anybody who decides to purchase ANYTHING that makes them happy with their hard earned money). I think I’ll go to Blue Mercury during their 20% off sale in December and load up on some samples there. 🙂 (since I’m a frequent customer, they’re always good at giving me a ton of samples).

However, like I mentioned before, I am SOOO hoping that Barney’s comes out with another holiday collection box. If they do, and it’s anything like their past boxes (even the $800+ one from 2 or 3 years ago), I would snatch that up in a heartbeat! 🙂

I hope you both really enjoy your calendars!!!! (Oh! I am still keeping an eye out for the QVC and Marks & Spencer one though. They seem to have a good variety of high-end products. 🙂 )

Hey Sista-Girl Luna!
Welcome to our family! Lol.

Practically all my family will be gone for Christmas to the New Years and Im single with a 4-legged child!

Sure it’s expensive I initially cringed at the price but I remember for a long time I believed that my husband or long term partner would get me the Holy Grail bag of all bags – Chanel!
I remember me being hit with a mental pic of me in my 60s finally getting that bag.
That scared me! Why? Because I didn’t want the bag at 60 enjoying it. I wanted that bag to enjoy now. Right now when I’m still young, fabolous and enjoying life.
I dunno what type of man God will bless me with in the future but I know that he’s blessed me now – in this moment and I will live happily in the world with the people I love and the things I love – blessed.
So I buy something expensive – I won’t go out too much, bag lunch and worry about the rest later. ????

I’m eagerly awaiting mine! Believe it or not, it could be even better than Jo a Malone!

I will be soooooo impressed if you have the discipline to wait until December 1st. 🙂

So tempted, someone familiar with the items please help: how much is the value compared to the ~$400 cost? Thanks in advance!

Aldama88

There is no value over the $390 cost. It’s not meant to be a calendar that provides value over the cost, unlike others.

Thanks Aldama.

Sigh. Guess I’ll have to make do with a candle here and a fragrance sample there. I’d totally spring for it for half price, but $390 is just too much. 🙁

I agree. It’d be nice if they offered a few price point options…
