Chococurb has the right idea when it comes to shipping chocolate. They shipped it in a cooler. A cooler with ice packs and a metallic bubble wrapper around the chocolate, to be specific!

Ethereal Confections

This is just straight up chocolate - no inclusions or added flavors. It tastes delicious, as good chocolate should, and is another two-bit wonder. These little gems are the perfect size for a little sweet tooth, or a quick 'dessert' after lunch.

Chocolat Dolfin Lait Cafe

I've had the opportunity to try Dolfin chocolate often with Chococurb, and I always enjoy it. Dolfin is a Belgian brand that is hard to come across in the states. I appreciate that I can try different flavors through this subscription. I really liked this particular square - just basic milk chocolate!

Wallie's Cacao - Milk of the Gods - Rio Caribe 44

One thing to note with Chococurb is that you will receive repeats. I've received this particular bar at least three times now. This milk chocolate bar is 26 grams of pure milk chocolate delight. This isn't the super sweet, flavorless milk chocolate you know and hate - this was lightly sweetened with the chocolate flavor coming through strongly, but still cut with the creaminess of milk.

Videri Dark Milk Chocolate

I've also received this chocolate twice, but I enjoy it so I don't mind. The packaging on this little piece of chocolate was top notch. It is a thick, textured paper folded into an envelope. This is described as: "Milk chocolate with a dark chocolate twist: we’ve added even more cocoa beans...sure to please both sides of the chocolate debate." It is definitely still on the dark end of the spectrum of chocolate - don't bite into this expecting that creamy milk flavor from milk chocolate. With that said, it is very good - it's a bit of a light, creamy dark chocolate. I enjoyed it!

Seattle Chocolates - Birthday Cake Truffle

This truffle is milk chocolate on the outside, with a birthday cake truffle filling inside. I don't really taste the cake flavor but it is certainly vanilla flavored.

Here is all the goodness!

Verdict: This box is difficult to do a value judgment on since many of the sizes are unavailable online. I always enjoy my Chococurb Nano boxes - the sizes are perfect for a quick, sweet bite of yummy. I think the $10 they charge for this box is reasonable, especially since the chocolates are high quality and a little hard to find everywhere.

The only issue that might be a big deal for some people is a number of repeats - there are quite a few, so be aware of that going in!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

There’s currently a Groupon for this box for 50% off. Also with the nano they apparently don’t customize it, they just send you a random assortment.

The dissenting voice: I wish I could find a chocolate sub that you can choose only dark as I find milk flavorless.

Kristin

You can choose to only be sent either kind with this sub 🙂

Haylee

Man, I think milk chocolate is anything but flavorless (hate dark chocolate 100% btw). Goes to show everyone is different. 🙂

I’m with you Haylee. I much prefer milk chocolate. Maybe it’s just the colors from my monitor but that dark-milk chocolate looks pretty dark to me. I would only consider subscribing to a box like this if I were guaranteed to receive only real milk chocolate not dark or hybrids. The war on milk chocolate continues. 🙁

You can specify that you only want milk chocolate with this sub. That’s what I do! 🙂
