Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc. The Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

I had some “help” opening the box!

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box, including the makers of the custom items.

There was also a $25 off coupon for an automatic litter box. I think my cats would be afraid of this thing, but at least it is a generous discount.

Note: Pretty much every item in this box is exclusive so I have taken the values from the information card.

Glowing Cat Long Sleeve Shirt – Value $34.99

In a further attempt to mix it up and not send the same style of shirt all the time, Cat Lady Box has offered this shirt, with more fitted sleeves (but still soft) and a looser fit on the torso. This is actually a photo of the back of the shirt; the front is plain black. One of these days it might actually get cooler in Georgia and I know I will get a lot of use out of it at that point. (Note: the body part is thin, so be conscious of what color of bra you have on under it.)

Vintage Style Black Cat Bracelet – Value $19.99

I like this! I am a big fan of black cats and it is different from any subscription box jewelry I have received before. And it is a good size to fit lots of different wrists (there is an extender chain; I have 5.25 inch wrists so I am wearing it on the smallest setting in the photo below).

Gunmetal Gem Cat Ears – Value $8.99

Would you believe this is the second cat ear headband I’ve received in a subscription box in the last month? But this one is a little different, with the gunmetal accents. This would be fun to wear on Halloween if you don’t want to do a full costume.

Here is what the bracelet looks like on.

Black Cat Pen – Value $3.99

This is listed as a bonus on the information card. It’s very cute and I can never have enough black cat stuff!

Boo Knit Ghost by Imperial Cat – Value $2.99

This is like the cutest cat toy ever. Madison immediately claimed it and started trying to tear it apart, although he wasn’t able to work any yarn loose.

Black Cat Buddy Toy by Loopies – Value $6.99

Another very cute toy. I tried to take a picture of it with Madison but you couldn’t really see it against his black fur. This is a little on the large side, but not too large for my cats to show interest.

And now on to the gratuitous cat photos…

Madison will sniff pretty much anything. My camera kept reacting too slowly to get a good shot with the ghost toy, but it was really fun to watch.

cat-lady-box-october-2016-monkey1

cat-lady-box-october-2016-monkey2

Monkey wasn’t feeling very playful this day. Probably because I tried to put the headband on him…

Sneaky wasn’t feeling too playful, either, although she did help by checking out some of the items from the box. Oh well, not every cat is going to cooperate every time.

Mr. Kitty was feeling up to checking out the toys. I like the look on his face in that first photo. He was like “but I was looking out the window” and I was like “but it’s 10:30 PM and you’re practically blind.”

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $78 for the October 2016 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box. I did have to take all the individual item values from the information card, but I feel like even if one or two things are inflated a bit, you are still getting your money’s worth (better than that, really). Plus, you can’t get these items from anywhere else, and I (or my cats) will use everything in the box. I am having a hard time picking a favorite item this month because I love black cats so much. (If I let the black cat pick this month, it was definitely the knit ghost toy…)

I liked last month’s box better, but this one is growing on me. I’ve been wearing the black cat bracelet. The shirt was so soft I put it on right away and wore it until Josie had covered it in white fur.

I have found the shirts to be more voluminous than expected so I adjusted the size in my subscription preferences down a unit. I’m a little nervous since I never wear a small in the store.

Have other found that Catlady shirts run large, or is it just these past 2 boxes?

I’m actually pretty disappointed with this box. It’s my first one so I’m hoping it’s just an off box for me due to the season. The past boxes I saw looked really nice.

I agree definitely one of the worst boxes I have received from them, not worth the cost.

ShopperGirl

I agree too I thought we were getting the Black cat box with the clock in it. I think this box was only worth about $15.. 50 cent Toys, pen, cheap jewelry, small shirt and a coupon thats it. 🙁

Wendy

I have that litter box and my cat LOVES it. My mom used it for awhile and felt the litter was too expensive but I disagreed. It’s insanely easy cleanup — Dexter and I both love it!

Kate

I had one of those litter boxes but one of my cats would pee right where the comb started it’s track, so the litter would clump on the comb between the teeth and it ended up pushing the rest of the litter ahead of it and over the edge. This was a model from a couple of years ago, though.

I have to buy about $100 in litter a month with my crew (and that’s just Fresh Step, on sale if I can find it) so it might be cost prohibitive. Mr. Kitty’s prednisolone means extra urine output (so massive clumps, like orange-sized sometimes). Also I think Madison might be afraid of it. I got a cat water fountain once and he wouldn’t leave the bedroom because he was terrified of walking past that thing.

I thought about one of the cat water fountains but my cats like to play in the water so much that I have to keep their water bowl in the bathroom and kitchen sink or it ends up all over the floor. I was afraid they would electrocute themselves. Louie plays catch with the water and Leeloo will wander around up to her ankles or belly if she can. I have to shut the shower door quickly when I get out especially after taking a bath.

If anyone is interested in selling the bracelet please contact me at ljeb2003 at gmaI dot com. Thank you.

I kind of thought Mr. Kitty looked as though he was about to say “what IS that thing next to me?!?!” Or “Do you MIND?!” Big hugs to him and his sister and brothers!

Lola EB

Was the bracelet an exclusive or can I buy one?

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

The bracelet was exclusive. However, sometimes they have items from past boxes in their shop. So, you may want to watch the “shop past boxes” section of their site — it may be available in a few weeks. (You can find this section by scrolling all the way down to the bottom of their homepage.)

This isn’t a bad box but I’m so disappointed I missed last months!! I was just a couple days late ??

My cat Louie loves big toys. He steals stuffed animals for his toys. He is now bigger that they are but they used to be bigger than him. He is 18 pounds but healthy per the vet.

So happy that I cancelled this sub–wish I would have much sooner.

$25 off is a nice off but it’s $180! I would never spend $150 on a litter box. If I would ever be tempted, I would look at the dusty designer Catit toys and then look at the CatLady box containing my cat happily purring. I swear they KNOW and smirk at your frustration when you realize they don’t care about an expensive cat toilet; they just want a simple box with crinkly tissue, treats and your love. Conversely, I swear she recognises this subscription. She was pawing at me as I came in with it. Trilling eagerly as I opened it, she loves everything in it including the stuff for me! The towel from July(?) is now hers.

A cat-tacular box as usual!

I got this box yesterday and I had so much fun introducing my kitties to the new toys, which they LOVED. My camera was too slow to pick up on all the great action but oh well, that’s the way it is with cats! I loved the headband and the pen, the shirt is really great for this time of year, and I have the perfect person to gift the bracelet to so it was a total win for me!

This has definitely become my favorite subscription box. I love the unique items and my cats love the toys! The shirt is perfect and the pen writes so good! ????
