The Boomerluxe Mini Box came with a product card listing included items and prices, along with denoting which product is part of their Women Supporting Women program.

Jeanne Lottie Magnifying “Readers” Pendant– Value $11.42 USD

This particular design was not on their website, but there were three other designs to choose from. I am going to keep this compact magnifying pendant in my purse for back-up on those days I forget my reading glasses. I still can’t believe I need reading glasses even at 49, yikes! It would have been perfect to receive a case to keep the glasses clean in my purse. This product is a featured entrepreneur from their Women Supporting Women program.

Revlon Age Defying Wrinkle Remedy Line Filler– Listed Value $12.99

This promises to smooth and fill deep lines and wrinkles. I’m not at the point where I have wrinkles or deep smile lines so, I may swap or pass onto a friend.

Arnicare Gel + Bonus Travel Size – Listed Value $12.50

This product relieves muscle pain and stiffness, and it totally helped ease the stiffness in my neck. How appropriate that it came in this box because I needed it right away! It’s unscented, paraben free, and non-greasy. I love how it absorbed well into my skin.

I also received a $3 off for Arnicare Gel.

Divine Skin Hydrator (1 oz) – Value $1.55

This product is also a part of Boomerluxe’s Women Supporting Women program. I have tried other in-shower moisturizers before and they were too oily and didn’t leave my skin moisturized. However, I was pleased with the results of this product. My skin was smooth and hydrated!

Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara – Listed Value $7.00

I have received this mascara in other boxes before and it works! It gave my lashes volume and length.

Costume Ring – Bonus Gift

This large blue stone costume ring is an inaugural gift. It fit well on my finger and will be a fun addition to my existing accessories.

Lastly, I received a second coupon, good for $3 off Calendula Cream.

Verdict: The Boomerluxe Mini has a retail value of $45.46, which is more than double the cost of the box! Since 2012 with the introduction of PopSugar Must Have Box, lifestyle boxes have been popping up in different categories, and some have been hits while others are misses. Either way, there is a market and certain demographics will be a target such as singles, or 50+, etc.

I am not quite a baby boomer, but I found some of the products very useful, like the Arnicare Gel for my stiff neck. However I’m not ready for the Revlon Age Defying Wrinkle Remedy Line Filler. At 49 I’m sure wrinkles are just around the corner, so It certainly doesn’t hurt to have some remedies on hand! I would have liked to see higher quality items in this box instead of drugstore brands, but overall I’m pleased.

What do you think of Boomerluxe Mini‘s inaugural box?

  1. I am on my way to 50. I can’t wait for the wiser part of life. However, I could totally use the Arnica and the mascara. Occasionally, I wear jewelry but not BIG items.

    • My skin needs that hydrator; it has been itching like crazy.

  2. My mom is the oldest of this generation (70…boom started in her birth year–’45) but I’m just not sure about this box. For one, she wears prescription glasses, so the pendant would be useless for her. I’ll keep an eye on it though. Great review!

  3. I briefly considered this for my mom (who is a boomer, born in ’48) but kept hearing her reaction in my head saying “why did you send me an old lady box?All this is missing are some Depends?!” Granted my mom is a bit of a beauty diva who thinks only other people get old (gotta love that mentality!) but I think this box, while it’s generally useful, is a bit too on the nose practical for her.

  4. I am really enjoying and appreciating your honest reviews. Thank you.

  5. I’m not 50+ but I LOVE Arnica/Arnicare cream.

  6. If their future boxes are like this one I might consider subbing this box. Hope you review more in future months. P.S. I think I am older than the baby boomers so send on the wrinkle cream. LOL

    • I’m 59 and am on the young side of the baby boomer generation. There are boomers well into their 60’s. I thought the box kind of sucked since it didn’t really apply to what our generation was and is. We are a bit more than wrinkles, aches and pains, poor vision, dry skin, and guady jewelry!

      • Thank you Monah. I could not agree more. I would hate to be defined by this box. How sad.

      • Hi Monah,

We appreciate all comments but we love product suggestions and recommendations!

We also want to remind potential subscribers that each and every month, Boomerluxe includes products made for women by local women entrepreneurs as a way to offer unique and natural products and to support other amazing women.

The Boomerluxe Team are women supporting women in all we do! 🙂

    • I didn’t mean for my comment to be a reply to yours! I’m so sorry it showed up there! It was intended to just be a general comment.

  7. I am unable to see the pic of the REVLON age defying wrinkle cream. I would possibly be interested in the box. I’ll keep checking the reviews. All but the magnifying glass & ring would have been useful to me.
