Retro Pop Box is a subscription service that sends pop culture items and relics from your favorite decade! My favorite decade is the 1970’s. I was barely alive then, but I love the fashion and culture from that era. They also offer an 80’s box and a 90’s box!

Texas Chainsaw Repair Exclusive T-Shirt – Value $15?

Wow, I’ve never seen Leatherface look so friendly before! I LOVE this t-shirt! This will be perfect to wear on Halloween.

Rocky Horror Picture Show Sticker – Value $2.40

Janet! Dr. Scott! Janet! Brad! Rocky! Sticker – Value $2.40

I didn’t see the Rocky Horror Picture Show until waaaaaayyyy after the 70’s were long over, but wow, what a classic! I think it was still playing weekend nights well into the 1990’s. Are they still showing it near you?

Apple Surprise Lapel Pin – Value $5?

This is another exclusive item, as well as this month’s Fun Fact item. The Fun Fact stickers says that the razor-blades-in-apples thing was a hoax, but it’s still pretty scary.

Clockwork Orange Bottle Opener – Value $3?

This is another movie I didn’t see until long after the 70’s were over, but definitely one of the creepiest movies I have ever seen. This is a perfect selection for the Halloween season! Plus we can always use more bottle openers.

Black Cat Black Light Bookmark – Value $0.37

This is a great Halloween bookmark, but I was confused about the connection to the 1970’s until I realized it glows under black light. How cool! The 70’s was definitely a very black-light-heavy era

Wax Lips – Value $0.98

Wow, I haven’t seen candy wax lips since the 70’s! How funny! I had to give them to my son to try. Both kids thought they were hilarious but gross! Haha!

Verdict: The 1970’s was a really creepy decade, wasn’t it? I know lots of fun and awesome things were happening then, too, but this month’s box does a great job at recalling all the great (and sometimes corny) scary stuff from the era. The value of everything this month totals around $29, which is on the low side for Retro Pop Box, but still good for a $25 box, especially when it’s so well curated.

What do you think of the 70’s box from Retro Pop Box? What’s your favorite decade?

  1. As one who grew up in the 70’s – this was a very appropriate Halloween box! I would have totally liked to see a huge set of false eyelashes for the clockwork orange! 😉

  2. LOVE IT!! If I ordered today would I get this 70’s October box?!?!
