Inside the box was a little square info card with the theme this month, which is “Queen Mommy” and all about pampering moms.

There was also a folded sheet listing information about each product.

Hard Sauce Hard Lotion Bar – 0.5 oz, Value $5.50

I love the tree design of this lotion bar, and the convenient tin it comes in. It’ll be perfect for tossing into my purse. It works well, too – it melts as it’s warmed by your hands and I found it absorbed well without leaving my hands feeling greasy.

Spruce & Fresh Gold Painted Rose Bath Bombs – Value $12

These bath bombs smell nice and they are hand-painted with gold details. I like how they’re individually wrapped. I also like how they’re petite so they’re just the right size for my smaller tubs. They’re also pretty and perfect for gifting, too.

Margaret the Owl with Coffee by Orangeni - Value $10.68

This is a “soft toy” from the Etsy shop Orangeni. It’s a cute illustration, but I’m unfortunately a little underwhelmed by it because it’s just a tiny little pillow that my 1-year old has no interest in.

Green Touch Beauty Perfect Brows Brow Growth Balm - 0.6 oz, Value $28.50

I’ve never received a brow growth balm in a subscription box before! This is a botanically-based formula that helps your brows look well-groomed, shiny, healthy, and re-grow over-plucked brows. I also love that it comes with its own little application brush.

I think it’s an interesting product and one that would work for anyone.

Toby is My Bear by Teacher Kira - Value $9.99

This book was created to help facilitate conversations about conflicts between children and help kids think about different ways to handle a conflict and their consequences before acting. This is definitely a good lesson to discuss with children!

In order to fit the book in the box, they rolled it up and taped it. Personally, that bums me out some because now I have this new book that’s already rolled up and feels poorly taken care of. Ultimately, I could get over that, but they also taped the book to keep it rolled so the tape was stuck to each page, making it really difficult to remove and I barely did so without damaging the pages. I wish they had used rubber bands or something. Better yet, maybe they could have put the box in a padded envelope and had the book slide flat inside with the box.

Here’s a peek inside the book. There are few words on each page so it’s readable for young kids and helps there be a pace that allows for a little discussion here and there.

The Verdict: This wasn’t my favorite Tonttu Box. There were one or two items I really liked but most of it was a miss for me, unfortunately, and I think they should have packaged the book better. As far as value goes, everything adds up to nearly $67 which I’m happy with for a $40 box.

Taping the book to send is strange… when I receive a rolled-up item like that I just re-roll it in the opposite direction and it does help with straightening/flattening.

Kathy

If you put the book under some big heavy books it will probably flatten back out!

I’d be super mad they rolled up and taped a book. I take great care of my books, and my son’s. I don’t know who would roll up a brand new one, let alone tape it. Very odd for a $40 box.

There will never be a bath bomb the right size for my master bathroom’s tub. Maybe if I threw in a whole package of 4 or 6. Of course, it’s no fun to take baths there when the tub volume is 2 or 3 times greater than the water heater volume…
