Health Warrior Chia Bar in Acai Berry (25 g) – Value $1.47
I’ve received Health Warrior bars in other subscription boxes, but this was a new flavor to me. It was fruity without being too tart and I really liked that it was only 100 calories. (Please note: chia bars have a somewhat gritty texture and this one is no exception.)
Quirky Wrapster Earbud Cord Wrap – Value $1.99
I don’t use earbuds to work out because I exercise in my own basement where I can blast whatever music I want. But, I do keep some in my purse for use at work and they get tangled all over the place, so this will come in handy. (I am reminded right now of this meme…)
Manna Kadar Lip Locked Priming Lip Wand (2.5 g) – Value $24
This is a pretty bold color but that is what I am all about. I am also glad to see a Manna Kadar product in a subscription box this month that is not the same bronzer/highlighter duo that was in like every other box this month (see comments here). These are cruelty free and contain a built-in primer. I think this is the shade “Joie” although it was not apparent from the packaging.
Here is a swatch of the lip product. This stayed on my arm all through exercise and even a little bit through a shower.
Strength Tape for Calf and Quad (six precut strips) – Value $8.95
This supposedly sticks to you for up to a week even through water. I don’t have any injuries right now (knock on wood) so I haven’t been able to test it yet. I see they also make kits for the ankle and foot and for the knee, and I suspect those will be more useful to me as those are problem areas for me. I may try to adapt this for use around the knee. (There are lots of instructions on their site for how to apply.)
Yuni Shower Sheets (2 count) – Value $1.20
I don’t often find myself in a position where I don’t have time for a shower (I work out at home in the evening), but I think these would be awesome for long trips, especially since they are individually wrapped. There is only so much you can accomplish at a sink in an airport bathroom and these don’t count against your TSA liquid limit, either.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $37.61 for the August SweatyBox. That’s a bit less than last month, but still pretty good at about three times the cost of the box plus shipping! I think it is a useful mix of items, many of which are new to me, plus I am one of those people who likes beauty boxes AND fitness boxes, and this is a little bit of both.
What did you think of the August SweatyBox?
