Look at this beautiful postcard from the Grand Tetons! So gorgeous! Why yes, I would rather be there right now!

Nomadik also included a 20% off coupon this month for Birk Sun. It’s a backpack with a solar panel for you to charge your phone! How clever!

Exotac polyStriker – Value $11.95

I wasn’t totally sure how this worked when I got it, but it’s a firestarter. You strike the tungsten carbide striker down the ferrocerium rod to spray sparks on your tinder, and apparently it works even when wet. Plus it’s tiny and lightweight. Pretty cool!

Exotac tinderTIN – Value $6.60

And here’s the tinder! It’s fatwood shavings in a waterproof tin. Great idea! I’m sure this will come in handy on one of our outings. We have three camping trips planned already this fall!

Nomad Waterproof Adventure Journal – Value $8.49

I love waterproof notepads. I like the idea of adventure journaling, but I usually find them more useful for writing down important things you need to know when you are going out into the wild. Then you know if it gets wet you’ll still have the information you need!

Chums Eyewear Retainer – Value $7.99

I actually can’t believe this is the first time I’m receiving an eyewear retainer in a subscription box. I do wear glasses sometimes, but I feel like everyone who participates in outdoor activities wears sunglasses. These are so handy!

Freshends Biodegradable Wipes – Total value $0.95

Two of these went straight into my purse; individually wrapped towelettes are pretty high up on any mom’s list of must-haves! I tried the third one out after lunch, and it worked fine and left my hands feeling clean but not dry. They are pretty much unscented. They have aloe and vitamin E in them, and no alcohol. I like that!

Verdict: This was a really handy package from Nomadik! I am sure we will use everything in it during the coming months. Their website states that their objective every month is to provide a $40 or higher total value, and this month’s total value falls just a little short of that at about $36. I would like to see them do a little better in the future, but my number may be low as I estimated the value of the wipes based on their bulk price.
