My Purrfect Gift Box Review + Coupon – August 2016
My Purrfect Gift Box is a UK-based box of cat-themed gifts. Choose from LITE (2-3 gifts), STANDARD (3-5 gifts), and STANDARD + Gifts for Kitty. You can also purchase one-time boxes in their shop. This is a review of the STANDARD + Gifts for Kitty box.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: My Purrfect Gift Box
The Cost: $61.12 at the current exchange rate, including shipping for STANDARD + Gifts for Kitty on a month-to-month basis. Save with longer subscriptions, and the LITE and STANDARD boxes have lower base prices. (This is a good time to go for it if you are thinking about subscribing to any UK-based boxes since the pound is down right now.)

Included was an information card with a list of the items for the month. (Note: This is the August box. This subscription ships from the UK so it took a little longer to get to me.)
Although a lot of the items are custom-made for the box, the makers are selling similar items on Etsy. So I have usually linked to their Etsy shops and taken the values from similar items.
Cat Ear Headband – Value $7.99
This wasn’t listed on the information card so I guess it is a bonus item. It would be cute for Halloween if you didn’t want to do a full costume.
Cat in Moon Bangle Bracelet – Value $19.94
This is adjustable to fit different wrist sizes and has three cat-related charms on it. It would look good in a stack with other silver-tone bracelets, too! (This isn’t available online from what I can tell so I converted the value in pounds on the information card to dollars.)
Monkey, if you’re going to get in the way when I take photos, you’re going to model the headband, too…
20 Cat Face Fairy Lights from Metemade on Etsy – Value $25.21
These take three AA batteries (not included). I think they’re really cute – every face is different. Plus, they work pretty well!
I put these in the basement (darkest room in the house) to take a photo. These are definitely an “indoor” only item – the cat faces are too delicate to take any kind of harsh weather.
Print from ACatlikeCuriosity on Etsy – Value $8.19
This is simple and cute. I need some more decoration in my office, I have like nothing right now but a plant. I am not able to find this print online, so I’ve have taken the value from similar prints in the maker’s Etsy shop.
Cat Decal from Vdestination on Etsy – Value $4.10
I will be putting this in the rear window of my car. I am slowly accumulating a variety of mostly cat-related decals and magnets from subscription boxes and I am totally giving off a “crazy cat lady” vibe when I drive now. But I don’t care.
Wool Heart from Paw & Gnaw – Value $5.32
This is a small and simple toy with an interesting texture – just the sort of thing my cats love.
Handmade Bird from Clasicats on Etsy – Value $5.40
And this toy has feathers so it is also quite popular with my crew.
Vet’s Kitchen Little Hearts Treats (60 g) – Value $4.91
These have rabbit, duck, and venison, so they will be good for cats with allergies. They were certainly a hit with Sneaky and Madison. (I found them on Amazon’s UK site, but they don’t deliver to the US.)
These treats were quite popular with Sneaky and Madison, especially.
Monkey sniffs the bird toy.
Monkey “helps” me with photographing the items from the box.
Sneaky licking the inside of the bag of treats.
This is a bit blurry but I did get her to stand all the way up for a treat.
Here is Mr. Kitty with the heart toy. He has pretty much taken up residence in that window. Sorry about the lighting, it was really bright outside.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $81.06 for the August 2016 My Purrfect Gift Box. That more than covers the cost of the box plus shipping, which is impressive since shipping from the UK is not cheap. Of course it is an even better deal if you live in the UK! The value of this box does go up and down a bit each month and the exchange rate further complicates matters, but I have always felt that the quality of the items is good, I enjoy getting some UK-made treats that are maybe a little different than what you’d see in the US, and I think the curation is thoughtful. Definitely a fun box of gifts for cat ladies like myself!
