August's theme is "Fine Writing." Just an FYI: the box ships late in the month and sometimes doesn't arrive until the next month. I don't mind, because I usually love the contents!

G.Lalo Paris - 8 notecards and envelopes - $9.00?

These notecards are very high quality paper. They feel super luxe and would be the perfect thing for a business note or even a thank you note to a friend!

Piston Fill Fountain Pen by the Dollar Pen Co. - $15.00

This pen can be filled easily via the piston mechanism. Here is a short video showing how to fill the pen. It writes very smoothly and can hold quite a bit of ink!

Wax Stamp and Seal Kit - $20.00?

This wax stamp is a pretty tree with two sticks of wax. I'm not completely experienced here, so I tried (below) to make a wax seal. I failed. Miserably. It can't be that hard, but I haven't had a successful stamp yet.

50 ml Ink Bottle of J. Herbin's Limited Edition Caroube De Chypre - $26.00

This ink is beautiful. It comes packaged beautifully, and the ink itself is gorgeous. It's a brownish color with gorgeous flecks in the ink.

Here's a sample of the ink, and my failed stamping abilities!

Verdict: I really liked this box from Moustache Stationery. It was a bit of a departure from some of the other stationery 'back-to-school' themed boxes, and I must say it was a welcome departure. Since I don't have exact prices for all of the items, I can't really do an accurate value judgement, but the ink and the pen alone are already above the cost of the box, so I count this as a win!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

What a cool subscription. I think the departure from writing real cards is a shame. I have a large collection (I love Zazzle, they even have custom postage stamps!) and try to send thank you cards frequently. I have wanted a wax seal for ages and that pen is awesome!

The secret to a good wax seal is having a big blob, almost like a bubble of wax, on the paper. It will seem like too much, but it’s not. Just my two cents.

Kelly is right. Melt til you have a blob. Do not twirl the wax, just let it blob. Count to 5 to allow the wax to stiffen a bit. Lick the seal, press into the wax and pull seal off. Whenever the technique down, you can play with the watercolours.
