Monarch Fitness is a personalized fitness subscription box. You fill out a short profile questionnaire before sign-up that asks about your fitness goals, dietary needs and preferences, preferred types of apparel, etc. Then the Monarch Fitness team chooses products based on your answers. I don’t remember everything I picked (you can take the survey without entering credit card information if you want to see it), but I definitely remember that there were vegetarian and vegan options available. You can also opt to get a box every other month instead of every month.

This is the second month of this new format for the workout card and I’m liking it a lot. These brochures are easier to use than the previous cards.
Protings in Chili Lime (1 oz) – Value $0.97
Protings in Zesty Nacho (1 oz) – Value $0.97
I’ve had Protings before, from many subscription boxes. They are nice if you are looking for a chip-like snack with a bit more nutrition. They are vegan and gluten free, if either of those is important to you. I am definitely glad to have received the flavored ones here, though, as there is something off about the plain (sea salt) ones.
MHP Fit and Lean Protein Brownie (1.8 oz) – Value $2.67
I shared this with my husband (it has 190 calories…). It was sweet but we both thought it was a little strange in a way we couldn’t define. We had the flavor “chocolate chip blondie” and there weren’t any chocolate chips in it. I would eat one of these again but I probably wouldn’t buy them. I am happy to have received a product that was new to me, though.
Fitwear Raglan Pullover Hoodie – Value $59.07
Fitwear is a New Zealand brand that I’ve seen in Monarch Fitness before. Their stuff is a bit spendy, but it’s really good quality. I still wear (and wash) some pants from this brand I received months ago at least once a week and they have held up. At first I looked at this shirt and thought “that looks small” but then I remembered that I asked to have my size changed to small because of all the weight I lost. This will be great once it cools off another 20-25 degrees in Georgia!
Beast Predator in Blue Raspberry (30 servings) – Value $49.95
This is a pre-workout supplement. I am getting to the point where I am almost ready to start a recomposition phase in my workouts (instead of just heavy cardio for weight loss) so we will see how this does at that time. (I kind of hope I don’t fall in love with it because it is $50.) This has citrulline malate which is supposed to help stimulate nitric oxide production (causes the blood vessels to dilate) and also B vitamins for energy, as well as a source of beta-alanine that is supposed to slow muscle fatigue. It also has DMAE, which is an antioxidant (and which helps cognitive function) and huperzine A, which may help prevent muscle weakness (and which also supports cognitive function), although the jury is still out on this effect according to WebMD.
Mission Enduracool Classic Headband – Value $7.49
I am happy to see something other than another cooling towel from this company (I have a few and while they do work, there are only so many one or two people can use). I have been into headbands when working out lately to keep little hairs out of my face that aren’t long enough to be part of my ponytail. The cooling effect is just a bonus.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $121.12 for the September Monarch Fitness box. That’s quite a bit above the cost of the box. I like that this subscription has clothing and some workout gear and supplements only in categories I choose, with a few little snacks as extras. I also like the workout plans (and the new format for them). Please keep in mind that what I receive may not be the same as what you receive, since this box is tailored to a lengthy survey you fill out before signing up. At any rate, I was happy with the contents and the value of this box and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!
