I love cheese & onion crisps, and these do not disappoint! They’re tangy, rich, and cheesy. Yum!
Crossogue Preserves Bengal Chutney (375 g.)- €4.00 (approximately $4.46 USD)

Chutney is regularly included in Irish Taste Club boxes. I like eating chutney with cheese and crackers, so I’m always happy to try a new one. This Bengal Chutney from Crossogue Preserves is super zippy. I broke out of my comfort zone and I tried this on a chicken sandwich the other day. It was a really tasty addition, and it added a lot of bold flavor.

Jam is another item that I’m always happy to see in a subscription box, and I like that this box contained two different flavors. Here’s a shot of them side by side:
The strawberry jam is a fair bit thicker than the raspberry & vanilla, but I like both textures. Both of the flavors are nice, too, but I think the raspberry is my favorite.

I have to be honest here. I’ve just don’t get instant mashed potatoes. I mean, mashed potatoes aren’t really that hard to make from scratch, are they? My mother always made them the old fashioned way, and I’ve always done the same. Still, I wanted to give these a try. I opted for the kale & chive version, and I really wasn’t a fan. The texture was… okay, but the flavor seemed really bland to me. I had my husband try them, too, (because he grew up with instant mash) but he didn’t really like them either. We tried jazzing them up with some seasoning and a little cheese, but neither of us finished our helping.
Big Red Kitchen Scone Mix
To make scones from this mix, you cut butter into the provided mix and then stir in milk and an egg. (I’m sorry I don’t have a photo of the finished scones! I made them one evening and forgot to take a photo of the finished product.) The scones were tasty, but I’m not sure the mix saved me that much time vs. making scones from scratch.
Verdict: I have mixed feeling about this box from Irish Taste Club. I enjoyed the jam, chutney, and potato chips, but the mash was a big miss for me. This box also lacked the product and brand diversity I’ve seen in previous boxes. (There were three products from Big Red Kitchen in this box and two from Just Great Mash.) While it can be nice to try different products from the same company, it can be a big miss if you don’t like something. I couldn’t find the scone mix or the instant mash for sale online, so I don’t have a total value for this box. That being said, this box felt a bit lighter than some of the previous Irish Taste Boxes I’ve received, and I really don’t feel that the items I received this month are worth the $49 cost of the box. I’ve enjoyed and seen better value in previous boxes from Irish Taste Club, so I’m hoping this month’s box is just a fluke.
