If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from)

They send your items in a differently designed tote every month! This month’s is a really cute leaf design, but since I got 2 totes in one order they sent me one old design instead of giving me duplicate September designs. They do this to make sure there’s enough for every order to get at least 1 monthly tote. I have really liked all their designs so I don’t mind!

Golden Tote has recently made updates to their return policy – now you can easily go into your order history and return individual items (it used to be an all-or-nothing deal). This month they’re also promoting their Facebook buy/sell/trade group, which is a great group for finding items you missed (whether or not you bought a tote), selling items that don’t work for you, and seeing a lot of reveals of the totes others get.

Personally, I think the Facebook group is a great idea and really helps reduce the amount of risk involved in getting surprise items/clothing online. You can also swap for any subscription box goodies on our swap site, too!

Pretty Printed Top, Floral - value: $40

This top was actually released as part of GT’s mid-month collection in August, and when I went to pick my September chosen items I just gravitated more towards it! I think it’s really pretty. It’s light but I don’t need a cami underneath and the sleeves have a pretty, flowy design to them. I think this top would look great styled with a blazer and/or a navy pencil skirt for work!

I really love the print and how it has subtly different shades of blues in the flowers. The darker blue almost just looks black in some parts. I think it adds some interest and versatility to this top.

Bo Bel Elbow Patch Cardigan – value: $40

This cardigan is very soft, comfortable, and warm! However, I have to admit that I’m so much more used to dark/solid/basic cardis and I’m not 100% sure how to style this one. I’m feeling some brown (matching the elbow patches) riding boots? Tell me your ideas!

I really love the fit and comfort of this cardigan, so even though it’s a little different for me I think I want to try and make it work!

Burgundy Mid-Rise Skinnies – value: $40

The Mini Tote only comes with 2 items, but I added on these burgundy skinny jeans because they were calling my name. FYI – They WERE a chosen available for this $59 tote but they sold out lightning fast so I went with the floral top. Because they sold out so quickly, though, Golden Tote decided to restock them a day or two after the September collection launched and let me order them as an add-on to my totes and adjusted the price to the add-on cost of $35.

These jeans are amazing; I know I’m going to reach for them all Fall and Winter. The burgundy/Bordeaux color is so pretty! When these sold out initially and I realized I couldn’t order them when the tote launched I googled like a mad woman to try and find a similar pair. I couldn’t find any with quite this color, and definitely not for $35-$40. I’m so glad Golden Tote is good about restocking super popular items.

Verdict: I like my Mini Golden Tote this month! I know I’ll get good use out of the top and the add-on jeans, and I’m looking forward to incorporating the cardigan into my wardrobe. As far as value goes, I got $80 in clothing for $59, or $120 for $94 if you include my add-on jeans.

What do you think about my September Golden Tote? What did you get this month?

I’m a little late with this comment but I’m doing research on this clothing subscription. I can’t find the answer to my question anywhere! So you pay the $59 fee for the tote which comes with 2 items, do you also have to pay for the clothing items on top of the $59 or no?

Hi Brandi – you’d pay $59 total for the tote and clothing items – there are no additional fees, the items are yours to keep.

Hope the helps!

Love the floral top on you, it’s very eye catching. The cardigan is nice with it’s blazer styling & I love the burgundy pants. It’s not an easy to find color in plus sizes so I’m envious.Great picks!

That floral top is SO pretty, and it looks great on you!

The jeans is from the brand Celebrity Pink and you can get it at Meijer in the jurors department.

Don’t think that’s right – Celebrity Pink doesn’t return any results at Meijer.com and Walmart.com only seems to sell their shoes.

I have seen that brand inside Meijer every time I go to the jurors department and that only a 15 minute drive from where I live so yes it’s their jeans, it must be an in store item only and not sold online, plus you can easily Google it.

Those jeans are everything!

Everything looks great on you! I always wonder how you find so many things that fit great from subscriptions. The cardigan is really cute! I am not a fan of the elbow patch trend, but the pattern and fit is perfect!

Hi, Jan! It definitely took me time to figure out how to get clothing online that fits… Over my time with subs/online clothing shopping I’ve learned that knowing your measurements/what measurements you like for your clothes (like inseam for jeans, or lengths for dresses). Also, learning what fabrics have stretch or not, and in cases like Golden Tote where they generally include the same brands over and over again, I learned that some brands tops run small on me, etc. Hope that helps! I still end up with things that don’t fit me right every now and then. Thanks so much for reading!
