The Emma & Chloe subscription is nicely packaged in a well-made box. The interior is printed with illustrated French landmarks and jewelry pieces. The jewelry item was neatly packaged inside a black drawstring bag.

May & June Tumen Bracelet – Value $60

This bracelet is a delicate piece that is plated with gold. The leaves are made of French-born lamb leather. I really like how simple this bracelet is, it is light and comfortable to wear. The leather leaf shapes (in yellow and gold) add an extra touch and subtle bit of color. The bracelet has a short chain and necklace clasp that wasn’t too difficult to close on my own.

You can see here how the chain detaches. I was able to slide the whole bracelet over my hand while clasped. The bracelet metal is thin but not malleable, which speaks to its quality. This isn’t an item I would have picked for myself but I really like the look and feel of it on. I think the delicate style of this bracelet pairs so well with the larger statement necklaces I wear on a daily basis.

I have small wrists but larger arms and I like how this bracelet falls when my arm is raised. The gold adds a touch of class to my minimalist personal style.

La Gazette N0. 39 September – Emma & Chloe

This subscription also comes with a short magazine that tells you more about the jewelry selected for this month along with profile on the designer. It also includes fashion tips and a brief article about what to do in a weekend in Paris.

The magazine shows different versions of the bracelet in gold and silver. The silver version of the bracelet is deep coated in a silver bath.

This article talks about May And June and has a short interview with Audrey, the brand’s owner who makes all the jewelry herself.

Verdict: I was pleasantly surprised by this subscription. The bracelet is something I probably wouldn’t have purchased for myself but I’ve been wearing it on a daily basis. It is well-made and feels like it is worth its $50 retail value. And at $35 per month, the value feels pretty good. I’m excited to see what I will receive next month!

What do you think of this month’s Emma & Chloe?

  1. Hi, I was just curious about something. You’ve mentioned before that you are vegan, and in your food box reviews, you don’t eat anything that is not vegan. But you’re okay with leather? I thought I saw you with a leather bag in another review, as well. Maybe you’re vegan for health reasons instead of moral ones? No judgment, I know it is a personal decision. I was just wondering.

P.S. I love the style of your photography!

    • Hi Nicole,

That’s a really good question! I practice a vegan diet but not a 100% vegan lifestyle. I stopped eating meat when I was 17 due to health reasons and cut eggs, dairy and other bi-products from my diet a year or two later.

I will wear/purchase leather and wool goods on occasion when the quality is high and I feel that it is something that will last many years longer than a similar synthetic product. This is just a personal preference and something that feels right for me.

Thank you and so glad you like my photo style!

      • Thank you for the response! It’s interesting how vegetarianism/veganism exists more on a spectrum than as fitting into a firm set of rules for every person (speaking as a lacto-ovo vegetarian myself).

Thanks for your fun reviews on this site!

  2. Compare to Your Bijoux Box and it just doesn’t stack up in value. That and I won’t touch anything made of any kind of calf leather, no matter where the poor thing was born (I’m more than a little appalled they would tout association with France to sell the leather). Because baby cows.

  3. I guess the “value” is in the French-born lamb leather. I’m not vegan, but I don’t want to see a leather item described as Texas-born calf leather either. Or some other variation of that.

  4. I got the silver bracelet and it looks like something you would get from charming charlies for $5.00 I was very dissapointed and cancelled immediately I wish I could have returned it the only thing I enjoyed was the magazine and the packaging totally not worth it

  5. I agree with others… there’s no “wow” factor in their jewerly boxes. Kind of boring for me.

  6. This was my first (and last) month subscribing to this box. I was disappointed for the price point–wanted something more memorable or some wow factor. I would not pick out this bracelet for myself and especially not at the RV. Wish I could return this and exchange for something else.

    • I’ll swap you for it if you put it on the swap site. I don’t know how to look up your username on there though. I don’t think there is a way to look up a swapper. Did you get the gold one? Let me know.

  7. Totally agree! I received the gold one too. While it’s not something I would pick out myself I love how cute and delicate it looks. The clasp is difficult for me, though, haha.
