Cuddle Crate is a monthly subscription box for pets. You can opt for a dog box (choose your dog size), a cat box, or a small animal box (select gerbil/hamster or rabbit/guinea pig). You can also combine pet types with higher tier subscriptions (i.e., get a combined cat/rabbit box) and opt for a bi-monthly box if monthly is too often for you. This is a review of the cat option.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Because Cuddle Crate is customizable and you can select different types of animals, there isn’t a traditional information card. If you have a dog or cat combined subscription, your items will be circled on the card. (Small animal items are not listed on the card.)
KONG Softies Fuzzy Bunny – Value $4.46
This is small enough for my cats to toss around and it is super sort. It has crinkle paper inside for an interesting sound, as well.
Petstages Cuddle Toy – Value $9.78
This is kind of a terrible picture of this toy, I am now realizing. There is a better one (with Mr. Kitty) down below. This is a little large for my cats to play with, although they do find the texture interesting.
Petstages Tons of Tails Catnip Dental Toy – Value $4.26
This has three textures and is supposed to stimulate chewing. It was the most popular item in the box by far, I think because it is small and has dangly parts.
Fat Cat Dust Bunnies (2 pack) – Value $3.99
Monkey gets excited whenever we get something from this brand. He likes licking the canvas part. So these were wins!
Zuke’s Natural Purrz Savory Salmon Recipe (3 oz) – Value $2.20
These are semi-moist treats and were popular with Madison and Sneaky – and even Monkey – although they are not new to me. (I don’t expect novelty in cat treats any longer after getting 8-10 cat subscription boxes some months…)
Gratuitous cat photos ahead…
Madison will reliably come out for treats. He didn’t even bite me this time!
Monkey poses with one of the toys from the box.
Monkey is not usually food-motivated. But he did like these treats.
Sneaky liked this thing a lot. She kept batting it around until it went behind the curtains. (I think I say that about every toy.)
I never know what my photos will turn out like until later (camera is SLOW with the flash). Here you can see a treat landing in Sneaky’s mouth – turned out pretty well! (She scratches me if I am not quick enough.)
I can reliably pose Mr. Kitty with a toy. His eyes are looking pretty good (for him, anyway) here. (Don’t worry, he goes to the ophthalmologist like every two weeks and he is on four different kinds of eye drops.)
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $24.69 for the September Cuddle Crate for cats box. That is a little below the monthly cost of the box, but some of the prices quoted above are sale prices from Walmart and/or Chewy.com, so the MSRP of the items probably meets, if not exceeds, the cost of the box (plus you’ll get a better deal with a longer-term subscription and/or our MSA15 coupon). The treats and the dental toy were huge hits this month. Although it would be very difficult to beat last month’s box (in terms of cat enjoyment), I thought this was a reasonable collection of items (perhaps better for multi-cat households like mine, where nearly every toy will eventually be loved by one cat or another).
What do you think of the September Cuddle Crate? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
