Bulu Box is a monthly fitness and weight loss subscription. The original Bulu Box is focused more on fitness and general health supplements, and they also offer a Weight Loss box that focuses more on diet products. This is a review of the original Bulu Box.

Included was an information card detailing the products in the box. There was also a coupon for Electric Yoga.

bulu-box-september-2016-bars

Bhu Fit Vegan Protein Bar in Peanut Butter + Chocolate Chip (1.6 oz) – Value $3.25

Bhu Fit Primal Protein Bar in Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond (1.6 oz) – Value $3.25

These are both low in sugar and have good amounts of fiber and protein (all qualities I look for in a protein bar). They were a little small but non-sticky and non-crumbly. The “primal” bar had whey protein from grass-fed cows. Both bars were vegetarian. I split these with my husband and we both kind of liked the vegan one better, which is unusual for us!

bulu-box-september-2016-prebiotic

Goodgut Boost Prebiotic Dietary Supplement (7 capsules) – Value $3.60

You all probably know “probiotics” by now. But “prebiotics” are substances that help gut bacteria take root by providing a supportive environment. These are designed to enhance populations of existing “good” gut bacteria. These are vegetarian capsules so I tried them, but with products like this, you really need to use them for weeks (or months) to tell if they’re right for you.

bulu-box-september-2016-tea

Vital 4U Vitamin (Essentials) – Value $0.83

These have you pretty well covered in terms of nearly every vitamin and mineral you would need for the day. However, that is far too many pills for me to swallow in one sitting. Also, one of the pills has some herbs that could interact with prescription medications (e.g., St. John’s Wort) so be careful if you are going to take something like this. I couldn’t tell if these were vegetarian (Bulu Box’s site says “please see actual label for additional ingredients” which were not printed on this sample) so I didn’t try them.

Sportea (1 bag) – Value $0.50

This stuff has been around for at least 20 years, if not more, and their packaging probably hasn’t been redesigned in all that time, based on the appearance. Still, this was good for an afternoon pick-me-up over the weekend when I was under the weather. I am a regular hot tea drinker and this has black and green teas, Siberian ginseng, ginger, yerba mate, and vitamin C.

bulu-box-september-2016-teeccino

Teeccino French Roast Dark Roast (1 bag) – Value $1

Teeccino Hazelnut Medium Roast (1 bag) – Value $1

I’ve had this before so I know I like it. I might actually redeem some of my Bulu Box points for this. (I wish they carried the Maya Chocolate flavor…) It is a caffeine-free hot drink that is supposed to taste like coffee, although it doesn’t taste like coffee to me (which is good because I hate coffee). There is a version of this that you put in a coffee maker that I like better than the tea bags, but this is a good format for trying the product if you’ve never had it before.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $13.43 for the September Bulu Box. There was a nice variety of items, most of which I will use (or have used) and quite a few of which were new to me. I only paid 99 cents for this box anyway (using the MYSUB99 promo code) so the two full size protein bars were more than enough to make up for the cost. If you like to try new supplements and health/fitness products, and if you would regularly buy items from the Bulu Box shop anyway (they have Quest Bars and Ips Protein Chips and PB2!), this would be a good subscription for you.

I got exactly the same box as Ragan, but I’m on the weight loss plan.

I have been subbing for this box for about 6 months now and have been loving!
I love trying new products in “health” category. I didn’t think I’d love this box as my birch or sephora but I get so excited everytime I open their signature orange Bulubox. For $5, you can’t get better 🙂

I got a box of nothing I would use. Portuguese sea salt 2.6 oz. Hyde cutz 1 serving. 1 piece of sweet fulfilment gun 1 serving. 1 serving Impact Whey protein. 3 single serving tea bags of miracle tree. Tea makes my stomach hurt I told them this and Called them. I don’t like to take speedy products or caffeine and the doctor said to avoid salt. I couldn’t find the cancel button or I would have pushed it. I changed my profile. One more month maybe. I’ll use the sea salt with coconut oil and warm water and make a sea salt spray for my hair.

Miracle Tree tea doesn’t have caffeine, it is from the moringa plant. It is not related to black/green/white tea from Camellia sinensis at all.

More to the point, though, those sound like pretty typical Bulu Box products, so perhaps this box is not the right one for you.

I got a bottle of hemp oil in my box. I really want to try it but I’m afraid it might show up if I get drug tested at work. I know this is highly unlikely but I’ve heard it has happened before.

I got a bottle of hemp oil too. I Googled it and can be used as skincare products, e.g. body lotion. That’s the way I’m gonna use it.

I got 3 packets of Miracle Tree teabags, mint, chamomile, apple & cinnamon; 2 bags of MOVIT energy gummies, in Berry and Citrus flavors. 2 packets of Vital4U Fiber Drink. The rest are the same as the review box.

This is a really great sub. I spend $5/month on it and get back at least $5, usually more, in points to use in the store. Last month, I got two full size supplements.

I think this is such a fun sub! I got the $5 life of subscription deal and I always find new and fun health items each month. I love trying the drinks, snacks, and vitamins. I think this is a great deal and their prices for many health items are competitive. Their rewards are also very generous. You can pretty much get a free box every couple of months if you complete the product reviews.
