Box of Happies is a monthly subscription box for handmade goods. It’s a great way to discover new Etsy artisans.
I kind of like these plastic cases. They look to be a good size for storing beads or other craft supplies (and goodness knows, I have enough of those…).
This box was sent to us at no cost for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Included was an information card listing the items in the box. Also there was a business card for Box of Happies.
Designs by Katie Leigh Druzy Studs – Value $12
Druzy is so pretty but I can never justify buying it for myself. I am happy to get some in a box though. I believe I’ll be able to wear these if I paint over the posts with clear nail polish. You should expect a lot of (pierced) earrings in Box of Happies, by the way.
Box of Happies Bracelet – Value $8
Box of Happies Necklace – Value $10
I like how the colors of these go together without being too “matchy” in terms of shape and texture. Also, I previously did not think I liked ball chain at all, but it is pretty in this necklace. Maybe you need very small ball chain for me to like it. (Also, those rounds on the necklace are the exact size and shape of M&Ms.)
Here is the bracelet on. It is pretty rigid so it should stay on (for reference, my wrist circumference is 5.5 inches).
Pack of 5 Seed Bombs from JPants.com – Value $6.25
This product isn’t available for individual purchase on the JPants site so I took the value from the information card. I am going to be saving these for next year. It is in the 90s or above every day here and not the right time of year for tender, new seedlings. I think putting seeds in capsules is cute though!
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $36.25 for the August 2016 Box of Happies. That’s better than the cost of the box (in itself a good accomplishment for a box of handmade and artisan goods) and also a few dollars more than June (the last box I reviewed). I discovered some new small, independent sellers (I love these earrings from Designs by Katie Leigh and this terrarium kit from JPants.com. This is a fun little box to receive every month and the individual items would also make good gifts.
What did you think of the August Box of Happies? Do you get any artisan or handmade subscriptions?
