Wantable Style Edit Subscription Box Review – July 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Wantable Style Edit has been a major player in the subscription styling service market for over a year now, and they just started offering plus sizes at the end of July. I was thrilled to get the chance to try them out right away!

Wantable Style Edit is one of several different subscription boxes offered by Wantable, including Wantable Intimates, Accessories, Fitness, and Makeup.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Wantable Style Edit

The Cost: $20 styling fee per month, plus the cost of whatever you decide to keep. The styling fee is deducted from your purchase. You save 20% off everything if you keep the entire shipment!

The Products: 5-7 apparel items handpicked to meet your price, style, and size preferences

Ships to: US only for free (both directions!)

Check out the Women’s Subscription Box Directory and the Plus Size Clothing Subscription Box Directory and make sure to add Wantable Style Edit to your subscription list or wishlist!

When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size and style preferences. Wantable uses a great model of indicating what you love, what you like and what you dislike, for all their subscriptions! They send you more of what you love, and never what you dislike.

Another method of ensuring you get some things you love is Wantable’s “stream” feature. Members can log in and view pictures uploaded by other members of what they received in recent packages. If you see something you like, you can request it, and they will send it in a future package if available! I have used this feature with Wantable’s accessory subscription, and it’s pretty cool.

These are the preferences I selected. I can go back and change them at any time.

This is the note from my stylist, Kayla. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me. She mentions that she went to my Pinterest style board (which I included in the comments section of my quiz), and I’m thrilled to see that she actually looked at it! This lets me know that my stylist actually cares, and actually picked my items just for me!

This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $484. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That brings the total down to $343 for a discount of $121. That’s a deep discount!

Moroccan Maxi Wrap Dress by Kiyonna – Cost to Keep $128

Is it me, or do I look like Queen of the Whole Wide Universe in the dress? I don’t wear jewelry in review pictures because I don’t want it to distract, but I think a crown and scepter could really work in this case. Seriously, this dress works on so many levels for me. I love the print, the black colorblocking on the sides is slimming, and the sleeves are a great length. I have to keep it.

(Please excuse the shades, by the way. I got something in my right eye this day and it was completely red.)

Ardmore Navy Blue Sweater by BB Dakota – Cost to Keep $45

I love this sweater! Look at how cool it is! Yes, it is still way too hot here right now to be wearing sweaters, even lightweight sweaters like this one, but I think fall is coming soon enough to proceed with this beautiful piece. My husband loves it too! Keeping for sure!

Leggy Curvy Crux Olefina by James Jeans – Cost to Keep $189

I know that jeans can be really expensive, but I’m just not the type to spend $200 on a pair of jeans. Until now! Check out the zipper detail! I love that! They are also super black and super supportive (without giving me a bunch of weird bulges everywhere). Now that I know what an awesome pair of jeans can do for my figure, I might have to increase my jeans budget!

Destination Daydream Top by Kiyonna – Cost to Keep $64

This was the only piece I received this month that I didn’t really like on me. I think the draping and neckline is very stylish and interesting, and I like the color. I just don’t like the way it fits on me. It makes me feel like one giant belly, to be honest. But, at this point I think I have already spent over $343, so I might as well keep it.

Caycee Twist Top by Kiyonna – Cost to keep $58

I don’t particularly think taupe does anything for my complexion, but the style of this top is so interesting! It’s pretty flattering, too. I’m not in love with this top, but if I returned both Kiyonna tops I would only save a dollar, so I think I will keep them both and enjoy!

Verdict: I’m keeping everything! I never do that! I loved my first style edit from Wantable. I absolutely loved the dress and the jeans!!! Because I loved the two most expensive items so much, and really liked the sweater, that pretty much sealed the deal for me on keeping the whole box. I think Wantable did a great job in its first round of offering plus sizes in their style edit. I also love that my stylist actually hand picked items for me and read everything I wrote! That’s so awesome!

What do you think of Wantable Style Edit? What did you receive in your box this month?

  1. I got my first box from Wantage Style Edit this month and kept everything too! I also got that taupe top and I love the way it fits.

  2. That dress! SOOOO glad you kept it, SCORE! You look awesome in it!

  3. Kiyonna is super resellable on eBay depending on the size. You could always make a little back to take some of the sting out of the cost of the jeans.

  4. Now I think the teal top looks fantastic on you – I love the neckline. Kiyonna is made for you! Alas, I can’t wear empire tops….

  5. holy mother of pearl that maxi is everything!!!! it was totally made for you! <3

  6. WOW!!! So many great clothes on you! Those jeans are perfection and I love the maxi dress. You look FABULOUS Anna.

  7. Seriously my favorite piece on you is the teal top! I think it’s stunning and flattering to every inch of you from complexion to length and flow of the top!

  8. That maxi dress is a show stopper on you!! I think it’s my favorite item so far in your short modeling career!!!

    • Aww thanks Sherry!

    • Me too! I’d live to see the belt tied in the back. I think you could do it both ways for two different looks.

  9. Just wanted to let you know you can find those jeans on, ruelala, haute look and Nordstrom rack for half the price of those. Just a heads up for next time. That’s a lot to spend on jeans when you can get the exact same ones for less. You look great in that Maxie!

    • Thanks Carol! And great tip!

  10. I think everything looks great on you and I’m loving your modeled pictures! I totally agree with you on the jeans – they seem way too expensive but look so good on you! The only overlap between your box and mine was the Destination Daydream top. It looks much better on you than it did me. I got that Kaycee Twist top in a Dia and Co box before in a different color and love it. I got a Kiyonna cardigan in this Edit and had to keep that.

    • Thanks Renee! What color did you get from Dia?

  11. You look fabulous in everything, I love the dress on your gorgeous. ..

    • Thanks Delilah!

  12. You look great in all the pieces! Your stylist did an awesome job and this is one of those boxes where I can say “keep everything”. My fav piece on you are those jeans. Great review!

    • Thanks so much, June!

  13. I love it all on you. Thanks for the real life pics.

    • Thanks Talese!

  14. I like the taupe top on you! Maybe it’s the lighting, but I think it warms up your skin tone and looks great as a contrast to your dark hair. What a great style edit!

    • Wow, you really think so? Thanks Heather!

  15. Wow, what a great box. And everything looked amazing on you! I’m glad you’re showing us pictures now 🙂

    • Thanks Catherine!

  16. This is the first clothing review I’ve seen where I thought “she needs to keep everything!”
I’ve personally never spent over $40 for jeans in my life but I agree those are amazing & are seriously worth it! I want a pair too!
I see what you’re saying about the tops- but the details on both are so unique and from here, look wonderful on you! I’ll bet when you add just the right necklace (maybe a statement piece?) and bracelet to the taupe one- it will brighten it up.

    • LOL! Thanks Wendy!

  17. Wowie. You look fantastic! You definitely need the crown and scepter for when you wear the jeans and sweater too! Now I need to go schedule a Wantable Style Edit…..

    • Thanks Annie!

  18. Try over-dying the taupe top. It isn’t costing you anything anyway! Everything looks great on you!

    • OMG that’s brilliant, tpop. Thank you!

  19. That DRESS…OMG! Amazing! I have to purchase this dress!

    • agreed. that dress may not be my style, but it looks incredible on you. it’s a keeper for sure.

      • Thanks y’all!

  20. What a great box! You look amazing in everything! 🙂

    • Awesome, thanks so much Liz!

  21. I honestly think the Destination Daydream top is absolutely STUNNING on you. The neckline looks so pretty and delicate on you and that shade with the colour of your hair is just fantastic. I would definitely rock it if I were you!

    • Thanks Ashley, I will! 🙂
