I really am enjoying this subscription. The brands and products they include are new to me, they have great curation and balance between salty and sweet, and I don't have to worry about eating a ton of empty calories.  This is definitely a great 'better for you' snack box.  I really like that they usually include coupons, and they always have an information card!

There are always quite a few snacks included, so let's get to the good stuff!

SS5

Jackson's Honest Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips - Value $1.20

Jackson's Honest makes some of the best potato chips out there. Salt and vinegar chips are my absolute favorite, and they do these well! It is a good thing the bag was small - I've been known to eat an entire large bag of them in one evening (I was younger...cut me some slack!).

Jackson's Honest Sea Salt Potato Chips - Value $1.20

These chips (along with the ones above) are fried in coconut oil, so they're a little more healthful than other chips. I enjoyed this flavor - they were a good, basic potato chip that would go excellent with french onion dip!

SS6

Dolcetto Petits - Cookies and Cream Wafer Bites - Value $0.66

Oh man, these are delicious. A deep chocolate flavored wafer outside with a sweet cream center - perfection! I loved these.

Love Grown Chocolate Comet Crispies - Value $0.61

This cereal is made with beans instead of grains, and I received the blueberry vanilla version last month. I liked the chocolate flavor much better - it seemed to mask the flavor of the beans a bit more!

Sola Bar Cinnamon Savory Bar - $2.08

This is a savory snack bar, that only has 1 gram of sugar. That is excellent for a snack bar! I enjoyed the flavor of this bar, even though the cinnamon was a bit weird when you're used to eating sweeter cinnamon things!

SS7

PB&J Chewy Bar - This Bar Saves Lives - Value $2.08

I really enjoyed this bar. This box can send a lot of bars, so you should definitely expect that when you subscribe. This bar was nice and chewy, and I really liked the flavor.

Raw Rev Glo - Mixed Nuts Caramel & Sea Salt - Value $1.83

I cannot even count how many Raw Rev Glo bars I've received in subscription boxes. This is one of my favorite flavors I've tried!

Belgian Boys - De Liege Wafel - Value $1.20

If you've ever been to Belgium, you know Liege waffles - they are a million times better than a "Belgium Waffle" here in the states. These Liege waffles have bits of caramelized pearl sugar throughout, with a yeasty, dense waffle texture. They sell these everywhere with ice cream and your chosen toppings (cookie butter was amazing!). This Liege waffle isn't as good as the street vendors in Brussels, but it was pretty close!

SS8

California Pistachios by Nature's Joy - Value $1.00

I love pistachios! They are second only to cashews in my heart. These were a nice little afternoon snack - perfectly salted and yummy!

Coconut Cashew Crunch Bites by TheGFB - Value $1.00

These are gluten free cashew coconut bites. They tasted a bit like a nutty macaroon to me, and I did enjoy them!

Lotus Biscoff Cookies - Value $0.25

Who doesn't love Biscoff cookies? These are my absolute favorite store bought cookie - they are super crisp, sweet, and just have an amazing depth of flavor. It goes without saying that I enjoyed these!

Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams - Value $1.00

I currently have the white chocolate version of this peanut butter in my cupboard! I like it, but it's definitely a bit sweet for every day. This dark chocolate version is amazing, and not quite as sweet. I really enjoyed this!

Verdict: This SnackSack comes out to about $14.11, which similar to last month is well below the cost of the box. I enjoyed the mix of sweet and savory in this box, and always appreciate that SnackSack introduces me to new brands that offer healthier alternatives to the sugary, fatty snack foods out there!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Wow, this costs more than a deluxe Love with Food box but has only the amount of snacks as a tasting box of LWF. Totally not worth it even at 50% off.

I contacted customer service
Hi just wondering if the retail values are typically far below the cost of the box? I was disappointed in the value of the snacks from last month. I enjoyed the variety but i felt like i could have gone to the store and gotten the same snacks for less even without using coupons or sales.

Hi Jessica,

It hurts us to hear that, but please have faith in our consistent snack curation longterm. We try our absolute best to curate amazing boxes every month. Although it’s not fun hearing a customer isn’t happy with the snack lineup, it makes us work even harder to guarantee awesome months of SnackSack to come.

I see that you got a great deal on a 6 month plan, and hope to impress you in August! If you have any other comments or questions, please let us know.

Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Kind of disappointing. Yes I did use a coupon for the sub but it should at least meet the full price of the box imo. Especially when not all the snacks will be something you enjoy. Otherwise why subscribe for full price when it’s over?

Wow, I find that condescending and evasive in the sense they ignored the ridiculous profit margin issue that prompted your email in the first place. Using phrases like hurting their hearts just sounds unprofessional. And who cares if you used a coupon? The response could just as easily be interpreted “if you don’t pay full price then don’t expect full value.” Either way, it’s a crap response and a horrible value to the subscriber since it amounts to paying double the price of what you’ll actually receive. Value aside, their reply alone is enough for me to take a hard pass.

My husband loves this box of snacks. With three teen boys in the house he loves that these are his alone. I gave this to him for six months at Christmas for the 50% off deal, cancelled and then re-subbed at 50% off for Father’s Day. He loves it, but I am not willing to pay full price, when their retail value to cost ratio is so low.

I bought this on the $11 per month sale, so I’m not too upset about the low value, but I don’t think I’ll be renewing at the higher rate – the value just isn’t there. (And there are always a couple of snacks that I just don’t like – I’m looking at you bean cereal – so this is probably not the best box for me).

Bekki, I thought your review was great and I love exclamation points! 😉

This seems exactly like Love With Food. Except LWF usually has a better cost to RV ratio. I’ve even seen a few of those brands in LWF.

Anya

Holy smokes! Lots of (!) 23 in this review! This box consistently comes way under cost, not sure why someone would pay so much to get so little. Love with Food seems like a similar concept and sends comparable products, delivering a better monetary value and decent point system. Easy pass.

Only recently it seems the number of items has decreased. I do agree they tend to repeat lwf brands but they also offer some that I’ve never seen in lwf. They also have offered 50% coupons a few times recently (only 11 bucks for a 6 month subscription) so i hope they aren’t struggling and return to a higher value box. But for now definitely wait for a coupon with this box.

Ha . 11 bucks a month I meant.
