Rocksbox aims to send one piece of jewelry from your Wish List in each set. Adding pieces to your Wish List can get pretty addicting!

Rocksbox-August-2016-Info1

Rocksbox-August-2016-Info2

Each piece of jewelry comes carefully wrapped in plastic and with its own pouch.

My box includes a prepaid return label (make sure to keep this and the shipping package for returns), welcome cards, and a slip that details what I received in this set. Sara, my stylist, said she chose the Jenny Bird Palm Rope Necklace from my Wish List.

Rocksbox-August-2016-1

Jenny Bird Palm Rope Necklace in Natural - $85 (Cost to keep: $68)

This is an absolutely beautiful piece. It's versatile and a little edgy but not so much that I can't pair with work outfits. I love how it gives my neutral-colored clothing some extra texture.

Rocksbox-August-2016-1a

Rocksbox-August-2016-1b

It has 14K gold-dipped brass fringes and handmade wooden beads.

Rocksbox-August-2016-1c

It's finished off with a toggle clasp.

Rocksbox-August-2016-2

Gorjana Lido Ring - $55 (Cost to keep: $44)

I fell head over heels in love the moment I laid eyes on this ring. This is exactly my style of jewelry-- delicate and subtle but unique. This is 18k gold plated metal that's loosely braided into a band. I was so in awe of the craftsmanship I spent a long time trying to examine how they weaved the metal together! The fact that I couldn't find the "ends" tells me it's carefully constructed and definitely high quality.

Rocksbox-August-2016-2a

It looks like a wreath! The monthly $10 Shine Credit brings the cost down to $34 so I'm very tempted to keep it.

Rocksbox-August-2016-3

Nakamol Burgundy & Rose Gold Five Times Wrap Bracelet - $55 (Cost to keep: $44)

I would never have picked this bracelet for myself, but I adore it. The color combination is perfect for my skin tone too! It is made of chains and beads tightly sewn together with leather. It's soft and flexible which makes it comfortable to wear. I think the burgundy would go beautifully with my fall outfits as well.

Rocksbox-August-2016-3a

Unlike other metal bracelets, this doesn't jingle around or scrape my laptop (as much) while I'm working. That's my main limitation with bracelets, so the wrap bracelet is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Rocksbox-August-2016-3b

The button closure has adjustable hoops too.

Rocksbox-August-2016-4

I feel really stylish when wearing the whole set!

Rocksbox-August-2016-5

I'm not too good at matching jewelry so it's great that the three pieces can be worn together.

A closeup of the Gorjana Lido Ring.

Verdict: My August Rocksbox rocked! Everything was on point. I fell so hard for the Gorjana Lido Ring. My stylist also did an amazing job of picking out a mix of comfortable and bold pieces that could be worn together. Best of all, I was introduced to jewelry that pushed me a little out of my comfort zone but still fit my style.

As for the service itself, the website is user friendly and I appreciate that the prepaid return label and packaging is conveniently provided. If you want to leave feedback or purchase pieces you love, the process is very streamlined. In my previous review I noted that the set took exactly one week to ship to my door. This time it only took two days to arrive. I want to point out this improvement because it means I don't need to wait as long in between sets!

Do the credits expire at the end of the month or can you save them up?

I have this subscription and I am planning on cancelling it. I had really high hopes for this because the company itself is efficient but as much as I try to explain what exactly I like and as much as I add to my Wishlist I never receive any jewelry I like. I keep leaving reviews and explaining exactly why I didn’t like them but it sucks that I’m paying $20 a month for used jewelry that I hate.

Rocksbox is one of my all-time favorite subs. I did a few months of it last year, but stopped because I was amassing a decent jewelry collection. I’ve been thinking of starting up again soon. They did a great job of styling a coordinated box for you, you look fabulous!

I subscribed to Rocksbox for maybe 6 months and I bought a lot of the jewelry. But I stopped because frankly, I ran out of money. The pieces are awesome and high quality. The service is great, the turnaround time is fast, and they keep the pieces fresh and trendy. I bought a lot of jewelry I would have never chosen on my own, and I love jewelry. But the pieces ARE pricey. If I had a higher income, I’d probably stick with it. I live in an area where good quality jewelry is hard to find in person. There’s a Ross and a Macy’s. Their stuff is not as nice as what I got in my Rocksbox. I might re-subscribe in a year or two or when I have more money to spoil myself with jewelry.

I adore that bracelet it’s perfect for fall! Nancy, you’re so pretty you could be a model; I love all your reviews?

The 3 pieces are gorgeous. Love the necklace. The ring was on clearance at Nordstrom Rack for 16.50.

Did you see it in person? I tried looking on the site and it was listed only in size 7 for $25, but even that was sold out. I find the stock varies quite a bit from store to store, so it’s quite possible it’s not available any longer (or at least that’s how I rationalize sometimes visiting three Nordstrom Rack locations over the course of a weekend.. ;))

All three of those are beautiful!

I almost subscribed at one point, but my understanding is that these pieces were previously worn by other members and then returned? I don’t have a problem with that, but I also don’t really see the value in keeping them in this case, since there really isn’t a discount when you consider you’re buying used jewelry.

Dootsie Bug

Of all the pieces I received, none had any visible signs of wear, not even the most minimal scuffing. I would say that every piece I received was in as good of shape as what you get at the jewelry counter. I personally felt a little weird about trying on the earrings, even though I have no doubt that they’re well sanitized.

I still agree that the discount isn’t really all that great, though the $10 credits certainly help.

For $17 a month, I thought that the discovery part was the fun part. I don’t typically spend more than $10 on jewelry (yes, that basically includes Charming Charlie clearance, haha) so it was fun for me to try/wear higher end pieces. I never bought any, but still considered it a decent value, with the exception of the turnaround time.. though if it’s usually as fast as Nancy said it is now, I’d try it again.

I find the turnaround time very quick. The day the mailman picks up my package I get an email from Rocksbox that they see it in the system and will start putting together a new box for me. Also, leaving feedback for all the pieces speeds up the process.

I find it fun to get new things to try out and see if I like new styles. I have bought a necklace and a bracelet, both of which look new to me. I look things over very carefully. I feel like it’s better than ordering online and not knowing what condition something will be in, and in stores the stock is often scratched up, too. I can see that I’ll likely run out of pieces I’m interested in after a while, and then I’ll cancel for a bit.

Carolann

Definitely a good point! I checked the site’s FAQ section and there’s a small blurb about the returned jewelry being sanitized but still, yeah not so sure I want to purchase worn pieces (unless they were super high quality pieces like the celebs borrow for red carpet events). 😉

Good point. The pieces are nice but a tad pricey considering they are used. I feel like you can find pretty much the same quality and style for a much cheaper price elsewhere, branded or unbranded. Good review nevertheless!
