This box comes with an info booklet – the first page is a letter explaining the theme. Inside each maker and their products are detailed. There’s also details about the fair trade practices, community support initiatives, etc. – it is a feel-good read!

Palm Leaf Basket – Value $12

Each box comes with some of the contents packaged in a palm leaf basket – they’re great for storage!

Shibori Scarf by Matr Boomie (India), Retail $25

This scarf is lightweight, 100% cotton, and I like the tiny tassel details! Here it is on:

Subscribers will receive one of two colors. If you haven’t signed up for GlobeIn yet, you can use the following deal to get a bonus scarf with your first box:

While supplies last, Use code MSAGREENSCARF or MSAGRAYSCARF to receive a FREE Shibori Scarf with your Artisan Box subscription. Retail value $25. Offer valid for new subscribers only with a purchase of a 3-month or longer subscription. While supplies last.

And here is the other scarf.

(GlobeIn sent this for demonstration purposes of the free gift – subscribers will only receive one of these scarves in their Pamper box.) GlobeinPamper-072

I love both of these blue and green tones of these scarves. They are pretty much perfect for summer!

Hand-Dyed Jewelry Roll, Malaysia (Retail $30)

I absolutely love the muted colors of this fabric – they go so well with the faux leather details.

Inside, you have two straps for holding earrings and necklaces, plus a zipper compartment for smaller pieces like rings.

The Argan Project 100% Pure Argan Oil – Value $18

This argan oil is made with 100% Organic Argania spinosa Kernel Oil – nothing else! I get a lot of oils in subscription boxes, but I always find uses for them. One of my favorite new uses is putting some oil on a q-tip for removing any stray mascara/eyeliner after application.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $85. I think that’s a great value for a subscription box that focuses on fair trade and giving back. This month the pamper theme was a little less apparent to me than some other themes, but I really love all the items.

What do you think of the August 2016 GlobeIn Artisan box?

  1. I love this sub, period! My shibori scarf is gray (I could have sworn I chose green but no matter) and it’s soft, silky and beautiful. Almost too pretty to wear out! The jewelry pouch matches colorwise and as usual it’s a well constructed functional item.

I recently made a swap with a woman which included the bamboo cutting board from 2015? February PSMH box. I moved last year, put a lot of items into storage and couldn’t find the board/knife. So I asked my swap mate if she minded me substituting the serving board from the GlobeIn Picnic box (boy was i reluctant to let that item go, lol). I was trying to figure out the RV for the GlobeIn board and I realized that there are none up for swap! However, there are still many, many PSMH cutting boards availble. Granted, PS is a very large company and many if not all the items in the PSMH boxes are mass produced so there are many more subscribers to that box. I was surprised to see there are so few GlobeIn items up for swap! In my mind, availability is just as important as RV (if not more so)! Month after month i find myself steadily happy with GlobeIn and if I could only keep one subscription I think GlobeIn would be the one. The only downside is that I’m drowning in palm leaf baskets. Even after giving some away, and when the opportunity is offered I always ask for an item in lieu of the baskets, I still seem to have 14 baskets!

  2. Can you still purchase this box? I really like August!

    • You can pick to get august once choices are up for September as they generally have the previous month to chose! 🙂

  3. I still haven’t received the Aug box. I know there’s a holdup with the Argan oil but i feel like the box is usually out by now.

  4. I read all the reviews on this site and this is the one box I always wish I got. I love the baskets and usually whatever is inside works for me as well. Someday, someday! Thanks for all the great reviews. I have found several boxes for me as well as gifts for family and friends. It is so fun to get a box of goodies in the mail.

    • Glad you like the reviews! This is one of my favorite boxes, too! 🙂

  5. I love the scarves, though I never wear them in the summer.
