Cuddle Crate
3.3 overall rating
4 Ratings | 3 Reviews

Cuddle Crate is a monthly subscription box for pets. You can opt for a dog box (choose your dog size), a cat box, or a small animal box (select gerbil/hamster or rabbit/guinea pig). You can also combine pet types with higher tier subscriptions (i.e., get a combined cat/rabbit box) and opt for a bi-monthly box if monthly is too often for you. This is a review of the cat option. (FYI, Cuddle Crate used to be known as Pet Pakz and they are currently undergoing a rebranding process.)

Because Cuddle Crate is customizable and you can select different types of animals, there isn’t a traditional information card. If you have a dog or cat combined subscription, your items will be circled on the card. (Small animal items are not listed on the card.)

Petstages Felt Friend – Value $3.99

We received this same toy in another box this month (I get so many, I forget which). My cats are not really into the wrestler-type toys, but I know some cats are, and the Petstages brand usually makes pretty high quality items for cats.

Categories Catty Coil (2 pack) – Value $5.99

Monkey and Sneaky thought these were pretty awesome (see below). And I’m pretty sure they didn’t even have catnip!

cuddlecrate-august-2016-madcat

Mad Cat Crazy for Catnip Meowstache (2 count) – Value $5.99

Mad Cat Crazy for Catnip Strawpurry Ice Cream – Value $4.99

This is also a new brand for me. These toys have catnip as well as feline silvervine in them and pretty much all the cats loved all of these and were still playing with them the next morning. There are a bunch more toys in this product line and I also think the pizza and bacon/egg and taco are super cute.

cuddlecrate-august-2016-cod

Yummy Chummies with Wild Alaska Cod (3 oz) – Value $3.20

This brand is new to me. And WOW, do these have a strong smell. Like fish food multiplied by 100. The cats thought they were pretty awesome, though.

Kitty photos (lots and lots of them)!

cuddlecrate-august-2016-madison1

Madison has a really big tongue. I never noticed this before, but this month, it has shown up in a few pictures.

cuddlecrate-august-2016-madison2

Madison found this ice cream cone in the bedroom again this morning and rolled all over the floor with it. So cute. (In case you’re wondering, there are always fewer pictures of Madison because he is super skittish and hides a lot, plus he also is hard to photograph. Rest assured he gets lots of attention, too!)

Monkey LOVED the mustache toy.

He also thought the purple spring was pretty fun.

Sneaky went nuts over the cod treats.

She also enjoyed the spring toys quite a bit.

cuddlecrate-august-2016-sparkles1

Mr. Kitty was there with the box before I even opened it.

cuddlecrate-august-2016-sparkles2

Sitting on the information card, (im)patiently waiting for me to get through taking photographs.

cuddlecrate-august-2016-sparkles3

It’s a bit hard to tell, but he was pawing FURIOUSLY at the back of this box.

Then he settled in the box…

…and cuddled with one of the mustache toys.

Verdict: I calculated a value of a little over $24 for the August Cuddle Crate for cats box. That is somewhat below the cost of the subscription (you’ll get a better deal with a longer-term subscription and/or our MSA15 coupon). But, my cats LOVED the treats and had fun with most of the toys this month, so in terms of actual use gotten out of the items (as opposed to pure finance), it was a hit.

Looks like Mr. Kitty has given up trying to be nonchalant about cat sub boxes! And I have to say I’ve never seen a cat stick out their tongue quite like Madison, impressive. I was also thinking you are brave to give treats to Sneaky like that but that’s only because our cats would take my hand off if I tried, lol. Hugs to all of the fur babies and an extra squeeze for my man Mr. Kitty!

I love all the pet reviews that you do! I have seriously considered purchasing a pet box for my cat because of these – but he’s hard to please, so I feel it would potentially be a big waste of money. :/

Monkey has similar fur to my cat Sulley (although Sul is tabby and white – but VERY fluffy as Monkey appears). Glad to see Mr. Kitty looking more active. 😀

My cat only like one type of toy, and trash (paper balls, foil balls, milk caps, and right now, a toothbrush cover), but I always read your reviews because I LOVE the pictures!!

I agree with August- the kitties seemed to love this box so much- so darned cute!
My cats loved pipe-cleaners all swirled up (I use them to clean lint out of my sewing machine) so when I saw those curly things- It was neat to see that this may be universal 🙂
I’m SO happy to see Mr. Kitty having fun!
Of course I adore the others too, but Monkey’s fur is seriously amazing and I can barely stand not petting him! Oh those paws!

The most amazing feature of Monkey’s paws to me is how long the hair is BETWEEN his toes…

I think I’ve read most of your cat box reviews, but this one is probably the cutest you’ve ever posted.
