Bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies and toddlers. Their boxes are very customized – specific to the month of your child’s age. Also, they recently began allowing you to “build your own Bluum,” meaning you can even pick what products you’ll receive out of a very wide selection of items (one of my very favorite parts of this subscription!). However, subscribers can still skip choosing their items in order to still be surprised each month.
The box I’m reviewing is customized from my preferences and choices for my son, who was born this past September! Because of this, my box may look completely different than someone else’s box.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

My baby’s a year?! How did this happen?
Everyone Baby Lotion, Calming Chamomile + Lavender – 8 oz, value: $6.99
This lotion is made with mild, hypoallergenic products. The scent is light, and I love the combination of chamomile and lavender. This lotion also absorbs really well too.
Dr. Brown's Soft Spout Transition Cup – value: $5.99
I’ve received one of these cups in a different subscription box before, but it’s one of my favorites/most used so I was fine picking it for my Bluum box this month. It has a soft spout but is just like a sippy cup otherwise, and it has nice little handles on the sides for baby to use. I’m definitely happy having an extra.
Here’s a closer look at the cup.
Melissa & Doug Peek-a-Boo House – value: $9.99 (on Amazon for $4.79)
This is such a cute little house toy! The windows and door are attached with an elastic and you can flip them open and closed to show members of a bear family. My only complaint is that the elastic is very stiff (at least new – maybe this will change as it gets broken in) so it’s kind of hard to manipulate the windows/door, and either my baby or I have to hold the main piece of the house in order to flip one of the pieces. Otherwise you just push the toy away.
Melissa & Dough My First Sidewalk Chalk Set – value: $4.99
I love the idea of having these easy-to-grip handles on chalk! Really playing with chalk is still a little advanced for my kid but I think he could have fun seeing these make funny marks on the pavement before summer’s over!
Here’s a peek at the back of the house toy’s packaging and how it works.
And here’s some baby spam of my son checking out the little wood house!
Verdict: I’m okay with my Bluum box this month. FYI - I always pick my own products for my Bluum Boxes, rather than the option to be surprised, just because I really like having the control over what I get. I don’t think I was blown away by any of the products but I think they’re all fun or practical. The value adds up to just over $22, which really isn’t great for a $34 box… I did pick the items so a lot of that is on me, but honestly, the products can be slim-pickings so often. The way I seem to have to pick my items lately is stalking the product selection options around the beginning of the months and pouncing when I see something I think I’ll really like. I didn’t always have to do it like that – there used to be much better choices all the time. I’m hoping they’re going to get their selection back up to par and it’s just been a few off months… The way things have been lately it’s just a lot of effort for subscribers (which we shouldn’t have to do) to try and find products they’ll like to get in their boxes. I really hope I see some improvement next month for inventory from Bluum.
What do you think about Bluum? What items did you pick this month, or were you surprised?
