BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - INFO 1

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - INFO 2

On the inside of the card was some details about each item and their retail values. Another cool thing is that they mark every item that is also vegan.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 1

MakeUp Eraser Mini – value: $12

I received one of these in my June Pampered Mommy box, and I’m thrilled to have a second! This is a 100% polyester cloth that removes all your makeup with just water. Seriously – I don’t know how it does it. Even eyeliner and mascara! Wash it before using, and then wash it every couple days (I have just been tossing mine in with each load of laundry a couple times a week).

Plain Jane Beauty Concealer Stick, Moonstone – value: $13.95

This is my favorite new discovery! I’m thrilled with this concealer stick. When I saw it was a complexion-colored product I huffed a bit because I’m so pale that things like concealers and foundations in boxes never work for me. But this one does! And, the coverage is spectacular. I like my Too Faced concealer for under my eyes but when it comes to covering blemishes, this little number blows it out of the water. Plus, this one is anti-aging, has cocoa butter, reduce appearance of fine lines, or any weird, unnatural chemicals that can cause more harm than good.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 2

I’ve been using this concealer every day since I opened this box, and I plan to purchase when I run out – which says a lot, because I have such a huge stash of cosmetics I rarely actually seek to go purchase any in particular.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 3

FACE Atelier Lip Glaze Petite, in Cameo - 0.25 oz, value: $17

This lip gloss is a really pretty, perfect nude for me. It also looked a lot darker in the tube than it applied on my lips. This shade is probably the closest to my true natural lip color I’ve ever tried.

Earth’s Beauty Shea and Aloe Lipstick, in Summer Quartz – value: $15.95

This lipstick is very light and easy to wear. The color is quite sheer (and somewhat buildable) and it has some subtle shimmer so it will work on lots of different skin tones.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 4

The lip gloss is swatched on top, and the lipstick is on the bottom.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 5

Medusa’s MakeUp Electro Eyeshadow, electro-white – value: $8

This is definitely a glittery eyeshadow! White I such an underrated eyeshadow shade. I love having it for playing with the intensity of my shadows, but my favorite way to use it is in the inner corners of my eyes and swiped up on my brow bone. FYI – subscribers received either white or purple shadow.

Mirabella Mineral Highlighter, “Glowing Coral” – value: $40

Unfortunately my highlighter came a little damaged. Fortunately, the powder itself seems to be mostly in tact – it looks like it just popped out of the compact and got a little jostled. That’s okay, though; it’s still usable. Applied, this just looks light and glowy. The color isn’t as intense as it is in the pan at all.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 6

The highlighter is swatched on top, the eyeshadow is on the bottom.

BENEVOLENT BEAUTY JULY 2016 - ITEMS 7

Here I am wearing the concealer (under eyes, and spot conceal), the Mirabella highlighter, the eyeshadow (in the corners of my eyes), and the lip gloss (on the left), and the lipstick (on the right). You can see both lip products this month are very natural colors. I like them both!

Verdict: Benevolent Beauty Box has quickly become one of my top beauty boxes! The quality and colors of items they send out are always fantastic. Plus, the value has been amazing every time – this month adds up to $106.90 which is fantastic and what I’m used to for this sub. I found some great new products (I’m especially thrilled with the concealer) and know I will use every item.

I love how this box sounds! I generally don’t buy any box over 20$,however the longer I’m in this monthly box game I’m realizing I’m missing some good boxes! Think time to drop the Glossybox and go for this one! Hopefully it sticks around and continues to receive wonderful comments!

Benevolent Beauty Box is awesome. So many full-sized products, at values that far exceed the cost of the box! Rachel is great with keeping the lines of communication open and available 🙂

So if we subscribe to the box now, will we receive the July box? Looking at their FAQ it looked like we’d get this month’s box. (That’s why I just signed up.) But I see someone mentioned in the comments that the concealer is sold out, which makes me think they won’t mail a box until August at the soonest? Really hoping to get the concealer and make up removing cloth.

I’m the one who had the concealer issue, and Rachel (the owner, I believe) did tell me that the box was sold out, and so they didn’t have any remaining concealers…so I chose a different replacement item. So, unfortunately I don’t think you’ll get the July box. 🙁 I really wanted to try the concealer as well! You can buy them online at Plain Jane Beauty…they’re $13.95 plus $5.95 shipping…so getting them in the box was a great deal!

The owner did say she sold out of all the July boxes on Facebook or Instagram. But shoot her an email just in case. She is very sweet. Hope this helps ?

I am, for the most part, enjoying this sub! That being said…I’ve been a little bummed that a number of the products in the boxes have parabens in them. Then again…the box doesn’t advertise itself to be a “natural” products box…just a cruelty free one…so I realize that I shouldn’t have that expectation. I was also bummed that the concealer I received…which I was really looking forward to trying…had gone bad…had a really funky, spoiled oils scent to it…it was unusable and had to be tossed. I messaged them via their FB page (it seemed that the only contact I had was through social media) and their only response was that maybe it was due to the heat. I didn’t flat out ask for a replacement but I was a bit surprised they didn’t offer one…so I’m not personally overly impressed about their customer service. I got in on the great 6 month deal a few months ago, but probably won’t renew when that’s up.

This is very helpful to know. I like the idea of a cruelty-free box, but I absolutely don’t want any products with Parabens or Sulfates. I guess this one is out for me!

That experience would be enough to make me cancel if I subbed. It’s definitely enough to keep this one off my list.

Just wanted to follow up on this. I sent an email to benevolent beauty, stating that my concealer stick arrived spoiled, and asking them if they could replace it. Rachel responded immediately…she noted that she did think it was due to the heat, and that while they’re sold out of the current box and so she doesn’t have another concealer to send, she’d be happy to let me choose another product as a replacement, or to give me a discount on a future box. I think this is a more than fair offer and really good customer service, so I wanted to amend my previous statement saying I wasn’t thrilled with their CS. I’m happy with that response! ?

Trish

I checked on your previous reviews and I really like what I’m seeing as far as brands go. I’m going to subscribe once I’m sure my Allure fiasco is resolved, and I’ll see what Glossybox does this month ( they’ve been a bit wonky too).
It seems like it leans a bit heavy on the mineral makeup items, but actually after avoiding mineral powder for years because it was so drying- I’ve discovered that by using a good facial oil underneath I can wear it, and it looks good.
I too really like the Medusa Makeup shadows- good stuff!
Thanks for the great review.

I love the Medusa Makeup shadows and pigments. The white is great for a base for all their eye products as most everything of theirs is of high pigment color. Everything is also sparkly and glittery. They also has a large line of glitters. However I have found their lip glosses to be quite sheer. I also recommend using a primer with their eye shadow. It also works well as a liner. Hope you enjoy this shadow.

I am in love with the Benevolent box, I have every single VIP box they have, I think it’s definitely worth the money and they knock it out the park everytime. It’s very rare I find a product I won’t use.

Same here! I was lucky enough to get in on the 50% off deal a few months ago. 🙂 I really appreciated that they extended the recent bonus product offer to new subscribers to current subscribers as well! It was hard to choose from the list since I already had everything, but I chose the Dermadeli serum. I’m using that right now, and I’m loving it!

I didn’t get that deal but I am so happy paying the $29.95 a month, it’s really my favorite box and I have tried A LOT!! Plus the owner is so sweet, we have had long conversations through Facebook. I was really happy she did the free item to both new and existing subscribers too. I wouldn’t have been made but it just shows how much she appreciates her subscribersvp. I think if she keeps the box the route it’s been going it will get a lot of subscribers.

Becca

Haley you make everything look great…gorgeous in fact! This looks like a great box. Thanks for a honest review!
