The summer box came with a printed card with a tropical print (2016 is the summer of pineapples!) that reads "Hello, Sunshine!"

The back of the card lists all the products included in the box.

Pacifica Dream Big Mascara - FULL-SIZE! Value $16

People have a love-hate relationship with mascara in subscription boxes but I was excited to receive this one. I like that the packaging is different from the typical black tube - the gold foil unicorn design is great. The Dream Big mascara has a special wand that you can switch from short (for volume) and long (for length). I have trouble with non-waterproof mascara as my skin is oily and mascara easily transfers to my undereye area all day long which is not the look I'm going for. I wore this in the summer heat and it stayed put! I'm ready to make this my new daily mascara.

Here is the wand twisted to the volume setting.

And here it is ready to give your lashes extra length. (Peep that unicorn!)

Hynt Beauty LIBRE Luxury Lip Gloss in Satin Nude - FULL-SIZE! Value $18.00

I was really impressed with the formula of this lip color. It is named a lip gloss but I think it goes on more like a liquid lip. It wasn't drying and had good staying power, it won't last all day or through a meal but it'll hold up through a cup of coffee. The color is a very pretty coppery nude metallic. Metallics are the newest trend in liquid lips so this was a great pick by Vegan Cuts.

VeganCutsQuarterlySummer-022

It has a nice soft wand.

Amalie Beauty Wink Lash & Brow Oil - FULL-SIZE! Value $40

This lash and brow oil has a built-in brush and you advance the oil by twisting the other end. At first, I thought it was a primer but it's a treatment oil to wear at night. It is supposed to give your brows and lashes a fuller and more lush appearance. The brush arrived with the side bristles bent outward, which made it a little scary to use on my lashes. I'd do anything for more lush brows so I will work this into my nightly routine.

Here's a closer look at the brush.

Juice Beauty Defining Eyeliner in Black - FULL SIZE! Value $16

The Juice Beauty eyeliner is made with organic shea and cocoa butters plus minerals. It has a built-in smudger for creating a smokey eye look. I don't love pencil eyeliners as I'm a liquid eyeliner type of girl, but the formula seemed nice and easy to smudge.

VeganCutsQuarterlySummer-031Your Minerals SWEDEN Glistening Grey Eye Glimmer - FULL-SIZE! Value $23

This is a loose powder shimmery eyeshadow. The color is a very pretty purple gray with silver shimmer. It has a special cap with square holes that lets a little bit of powder out a time. You can easily pop this off though if you wanna dive into some loose powder. Because it's a loose powder and not a pressed powder, you're going to get some fall out. I created a subtle look with this by applying brown shadow in my crease and then sweeping this over the lid. For a more intense shimmer, you can wet your brush with a setting spray and then dip into the shadow.

VeganCutsQuarterlySummer-032

Pretty shimmer!

VeganCutsQuarterlySummer-234

Here's a look at everything swatched. The eyeliner is at the top, eyeshadow in the middle, and then the gloss at the bottom.

VeganCutsQuarterlySummer-200

This is the look I created with brown shadows in the crease (I used the Tarte shadow palette that came in my Popsugar Mystery Box!) with the Glistening Grey shadow over the lid. This also shows two coats of the Dream Big mascara used with the volume setting - it still gave me some nice length!

VeganCutsQuarterlySummer-203And here's the full look with eyeshadow and lip gloss. You can see the pretty metallic sheen of the lip gloss here, which adds full color instead of the shiny tint that a true gloss provides. I have to explain the pink tint and the light streak on my face! The line is from light coming through my windows and the pink tint is a reflection from bright pink colors in an area rug. Natural light photography has its drawbacks!

Verdict: This box has a total value of $111 which is great for a $39.95 box! I loved this first box and discovered products that I will continue to use regularly, especially the mascara and lip color. I was impressed by the quality of vegan ingredients in all the products included plus I liked the special gold sizzle used to pack the products.

This looks like a great box! I am so happy to see that mascara, I just got it as a bonus for signing up for Good Being. It is WONDERFUL! I have struggled with irritated eyes and the need for waterproof mascara because of it my whole life. I have tried tons of mascaras, up to $30. The first time I used this I had no irritation, lengthened lashes, no flaking, no racoon eyes. I honestly didn’t believe it. But it continues to work great and I actually look forward to putting it on. The brush is nice, I have short lashes, and keeping it on the “volume” setting makes it easier to apply. Plus at $16, it is a steal. 🙂

Emily , what is your favorite waterproof masara? I HAVE to wear waterproof, but the options aren’t great. Maybe I’ll try this one even though it’s not waterproof.

Hi Jen!

I’ve been pretty happy with Buxom Lash Waterproof Mascara. It’s not a life changer but it’s a good daily use type of mascara. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Emily. I’ll give it a try.

Great review – thanks for sharing. I will keep an eye on this subscription now that LaRitzy has shifted their concept. Looks like some great makeup products.
