McCrea's Candies Black Lava Sea Salt Caramels - $3.95

Oh man... the only thing that would make these better is covering them with dark chocolate - these are seriously delicious.  I ripped into these literally within 20 minutes of the box being delivered and they were a little soft - so if you live in a warmer climate definitely wait a bit after delivery to let them solidify.  They're delicious both ways though...

Love, Cookie Lemon Cooler Cookies - $4.99

Have you seen that meme about eating powdered sugar donuts as an adult - like I can totally handle this without a mess, and then somehow you're covered from head to toe in powdered sugar, wondering how they even got that much powdered sugar on the donut? Yeah, you're going to experience that here, but it's worth it because these are delicious!

Salt of the Earth Bakery Original Brownie - $5.00

Ok, people, as my doorbell rang from the USPS man, I walked down my stairs wishing I had brownies in the house.  Somehow, Treatsie knew this, and sent me a brownie.  It was still warm from being in the USPS truck I guess because it was perfectly soft and had little puddles of chocolate.  Seriously, this was amazing.

Sweet on Vermont Maple Almond Brittle - $4.00

I have mixed feelings about this one.  The flavor of the candy was great, but it was SO hard to eat.  It stuck to my teeth everywhere, and I'm pretty certain mine melted and re-hardened into one large block.  I can't imagine that a large block is how they would send this out intentionally - I'm seriously surprised I didn't break a tooth.

Verdict:  Overall, I really loved this month of treats from Treatsie. The value of my box was about $17.94, which is a little under the cost of the box, which is always a bummer! Aside from the issue with the brittle, everything was great, and the variety was wonderful! I always like my Treatsie boxes, because even if I don't love everything inside, I get introduced to new companies and products!

Have you tried Treatsie yet? Was your brittle in one massive chunk of death too?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Poor customer service. Poor shipping. But amazingly they have no trouble renewing a subscription even though they are two months behind in making shipments. Stay away!! Christmas gift purchased for a friend and the first box arrived in the third week of March.

I had a HORRIBLE experience ordering with Treatsie over the holiday season; I ordered on Dec 18 for a christmas present; feb rolls around and still NOTHING; I email THEM, not the other way around, to hear that they are delayed and it should be there very soon. Ok. 2 weeks later, still NOTHING, I email them back and I get NO REPLY. It is now March, I should be getting my last box and I still have not even gotten my FIRST box; emailed again demanding a refund. DO NOT order treatsie.

Really was wishing for more with this box. I ordered two separate subscriptions for my mother and grandmother as presents. My mother would often not receive hers, only to find out that she wouldn’t receive her intended box until the month after.

Please be mindful! They really, truly don’t care.

I had a double the sweets coupon, this was my first box with them, I canceled immediately. Hated the box, it was 2 packages of cookies, nothing exciting about them at all (think famous amos retail store cookies) and 2 packages of hard candies of which I’m not a fan, the flavors were standard cherry and grape, I did like the caramels, but that was it, the rest I took to work and let them eat them, not worth the calories. To me these were definitely not “gourmet” quality treats, just junk. I had hoped I’d get perhaps Julys box along with August so I could get more of a feel for the company, but nope, just the same box twice. Might have liked a different one but I’ll never know because I canceled it.

Sweet on Vermont

Hi, Bekki and Fancy_That. This is Erika from Sweet on Vermont. I’m sorry to hear your brittle pieces were melted together. While the brittle is pretty hearty, it sounds like it met its match in temperatures above 90F during shipping. If you still have any brittle left, another way to enjoy it is to melt it gently in the microwave (10-second intervals once or twice) and pour it over ice cream, popcorn, etc. I hope this helps.

Just a FYI
It’s very hard to cancel this sub. There is no place on website to cancel you have to email them . I emailed them to cancel plenty ahead of time . And never responded and now it’s too late I will be charged again.
Not happy?

My brittle had hardened into 1 solid block too. It sure tasked good though. Loved the caramels. Not a fan of cookies in general and the brownies could have used a smidge more sugar to cut the bitterness. Low value box this month. Hoping for better next time.
