Piper & Leaf Sassyfras Strawberry Green Tea – 1.2 oz, value: $9.99
This smells great. I don’t think I’ve ever had sassyfras tea before, or tea with red beets in it! Strawberry tea sounds good, though, so I’m going to just try this. It’ll be something new and different for me! Here’s to expanding my tea comfort zone and trying new things…
Piper & Leaf Front Porch Special – 1.2 oz, value: $9.99
This tea is fantastic. It smells so good! It has black tea, spearmint, corn flowers, jasmine, and bergamot. Love!
There were some little info cards about each tea blend in the box.
Outset Hex Ice Cube Mould – value: $8.99
This is interesting. I think Tea Box Express included this ice cube tray for summer iced tea? And the hexagons look like bee hives so it’s novelty for tea/honey related beverages? Unfortunately this mold is just not great. Each little hexagon is tiny! They melt so fast! Definitely not what you’d want to use to make iced tea or to pour a hot beverage over. And the silicone doesn’t actually make it easy to remove each ice cube. It’s hard to get them out.
This item is a miss, unless you are a hardcore lover of 6-sided things.
The Good Batch Brown Butter Salty Cookie – value: $1.67
This is a shortbread cookie made with brown butter and topped with sea salt. This was very good! It didn’t last long!
Here’s a peek at the ingredients label, too.
Verdict: This wasn’t the best Tea Box Express for me, but it wasn’t bad. My favorite thing about Tea Box Express over other tea boxes (for me, personally) is that they don’t just send teas, but also treats to eat with your teas and tools/paraphernalia. I’ve found tons of snacks and treats I’ve loved through this box. The value adds up to about $30.64, which isn’t great, and on the low side for this sub. I think that this box tends to be more about curation and discovery than a huge value, so if you’re considering this sub, just keep that in mind. Overall, I’m underwhelmed with this month’s box, but this is a subscription I generally love, so I’m looking forward to future boxes.
