Grey Ghost Bakery Chocolate Cayenne Cookies (1.4 oz) – Value $2
Chocolate and cayenne actually go really well together. I just ate these plain (well, OK, shared with my husband since I am counting calories) but I think they would go really well with some Maya Crio-Bru.
Grey Ghost Bakery Molasses Spice Cookies (1.4 oz) – Value $2
About the only way I can take molasses is in cookies like this. These remind me of fall and cooler weather for some reason (perhaps just wishful thinking, since it has been in the 90s all week here).
Grey Ghost Bakery Almond Toffee Cookies (1.4 oz) – Value $2
I think these were my favorites of the cookies. I was surprised as I didn’t think I was a toffee fan, but these may have changed my mind about that!
Oliver Pluff & Co. Blackberry Black Tea Blend (3 oz) – Value $12.95
This is a loose black tea blend. The fruit is really subtle and almost present more as an aftertaste. I think I am on my third cup of the day of this as I write this review. I have taken this to work and it will probably be gone in under a month.
Here’s what the loose tea looks like.
And here it is brewed. Please forgive the kitchen counter clutter in the background of the photo.
Oliver Pluff & Co. Cacao Mint Tea (1.5 oz) – Value $10
This is a caffeine-free tea with only two ingredients – cacao and mint! I love the flavor although I don’t think I used quite enough the first time around. I’ll be trying it again soon at higher strength.
Fox Run Brands Metal Tea Strainer – Value $7.71
I have like a half dozen of these. I think I will bring it in to the office so I have an extra one there. The price seems a bit high for this type of item but that is what it is selling for on Amazon. (Not from a third party seller, either.)
Here is the loose tea.
And here is the tea brewed. (This is the cup that was too weak. I expect it’ll have a little darker color next time.)
Verdict: I calculated a value of $36.66 for the July Tea Box Express. That is a little better than the monthly price plus shipping, and I never would have discovered either the cookies or the tea brand without this box – now I’m a big fan of both! I drink a lot of tea every day and so does my husband, so a subscription like this would be totally worth the price for my household.
