LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 -

Serendipity by LLB
3 overall rating
1 Ratings | 0 Reviews

Serendipity by LLB is a bi-monthly subscription by Little Lace Box. The regular Little Lace Box subscription is a bi-monthly themed box, and it ships on the off months of Serendipity (so, if you subscribed to both Little Lace Box and Serendipity by LLB, they would trade off every other month as far as which box you receive). Serendipity boxes do not have a theme – they’re just some fun product finds that LLB wants to share!

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - info 1

My box came with a little folded info sheet detailing a little bit about the products chosen this month. Even though Serendipity boxes aren’t themed boxes, this month’s items do focus a little bit on “setting the scene” for their flagship/main box, Little Lace Box.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - info 2

The inside of the info sheet had details about each item and the retail prices/values.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 1

Le Blanc France Parfum Sachet – retail: $5.99

This perfume sachet smells fantastic – and strong. I like little packets like this to toss in my drawers or stored clothing bins. They also say you can open it up, sprinkle it on carpet, and vacuum it up (for vacuums with bags) to make it smell nice when you vacuum, which I think is clever.

MyKitsch Chevron Necklace – retail: $22.95

This necklace is pretty and versatile. I don’t generally like silver and gold together, but because neither metal is particularly bright I think it works for this. The other option subscribers could receive is a pearl layering necklace. I’m glad I got this one because I don’t care for pearls.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 2

Here’s a close up of the art on the sachet and the pendant on the necklace.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 3

MannaKadar 3-in-1 Blush Highlighter Shadow in Fantasy – value: $19

I’m familiar with this brand thanks to subscription boxes, and this product is made to be a very versatile one! I think that as a blush or shadow it would work really well for all skin tones, but I think it’s a bit dark for a highlighter for super pale people like me. I could probably get it to work as a highlighter, I would just need a light hand when applying.

Pre de Province Riche Hand Butter in Amande – 1 oz, value: $7.99

Subscribers received one of four fragrances: lavender, amande, coconut, or starflower. I received amande. I was excited because I love the smell of almonds in skin products, but honestly this smells so much like doctor’s office soap. I don’t know why that’s what it makes me think of! But I don’t mind – I still think it smells great. Just not as almond-y as I was expecting.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 4

Here’s a close up and swatch of the MannaKadar 3-in-1 for you! It’s a very pretty, shimmery shade and you can also use it wet to intensify the color and application.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 5

100% Cotton Boca Terry Headband – retail: $3.95

This is interesting! From the spoilers I really didn’t think I was going to care about this item at all, but it’s actually quite nice. I think my husband will look at me funny when I use this to hold my hair back for a mask or to wash my face, but whatever. I can see how this would feel just a little extra luxurious. Pro tip: I think you could probably stick it in the freezer for a little refreshment. I know it’s so out of the way that way, so if you have a towel warmer or a heated towel rack you could put this in there to make it nice and warm and relaxing! (bonus: drop a little bit of lavender oil on it? Now I’m going to have to try this!).

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 6

It connects easily with velcro, and the Velcro pieces are long enough that they should accommodate most people’s heads.

LLB SERENDIPITY JULY 2016 - items 7

Bonus, I received a code for $50 off my first 2 boxes from Hello Fresh.

Verdict: Although this month’s Serendipity isn’t my favorite, it’s still not a bad box! I also love the time and thoughtfulness they always put into their info sheets. The value of everything adds up to $59.88, and I’m definitely happy with that for a $12.99 box.

What do you think about the July Serendipity by LLB? What variations did you get/do you hope to get?

Serendipity by LLB will include five to seven sample size (sometimes full-size) items that don’t have any theme attached at all, just great little finds that we wanted to share with all of you. I just purchased 1 year. I wonder if I have to wait 2 months for the 1st box then? Will I get a Sept. box; anyone know?

A small Serendipity update: The USPS tracking page shows that the package was picked up in Florida around 6 pm tonight. Finally some movement!

I received a shipping notice for Septembers box today but tracking only shows that the label has been created. I checked my LLB account and it shows that shipping will be on the 28th? Anyone else notice? Also my shipping email said USPS First Class Mail. Usually it’s Priority Mail. This months package must be really light! Let’s all hope good things come in small packages applies this time 🙂

I haven’t even received a shipping notice. I messaged them yesterday, but no response yet.

I was just checking the LLB website too, to see if there were any clues about this month’s box. Glad I’m not the only one wondering! The tracking number shows no movement either. Maybe they had to wait for the arrival of a product before they could ship (?) This will be my first Serendipity box – it’s hard to wait! 🙂

Curiosity is enough to drive me nuts! Since they put the items from the boxes in their store pages I’ve been looking at the new items esp the lightweight ones to try and figure out what we will get LOL. If nothing else it helps pass the time 😉

Annie

Did I miss the September box announcement? I looked on the LLB website and can’t find anything about the September serendipity box.

All I could see was that it’s not shipping till about Sept. 20th. It also looks like they are temporarily not accepting any more subscriptions (too popular I guess!)

Mattie

Can someone please tell me when they normally bill for this box? Timing wise in relevance to their shipping? I noticed that the next box ships September 20 but I couldn’t find information about billing.

Lawden

I would also love to know if anyone has the answer… When do they bill for this box?

This is my third box and I continue to enjoy the sub. I got the pearl necklace which I prefer, coconut hand cream (first coconut scented item from sub box!) and rose sachet. I am not crazy about rose scent, but I will find a place to put it! The headband looks washable. 3 in 1 product is a great color for cheeks and eyes, but too dark as a highlighter for me.

I usually love this box, but this time was pretty much a miss for me- I got the chevron necklace (I’ll never wear this and would have worn the pearl all the time
), the vanilla sachet – hate the scent of vanilla; coconut hand cream (this is okay, would have preferred almond); love the wrap and will use the 3-in-1. Not the best fit, but that’s the risk of sub boxes – my other boxes from them have been home runs – even Babe Ruth didn’t hit one each time at bat! Waiting impatiently for September’s box!

I looked all over my sachet to see if I could find the name of the scent. I couldn’t find it. Anyone know where the scent name is located?

I got the chevron necklace and will try to swap for the pearl instead.

The MannaKadar 3-in-1 is pretty but I’ll have to check the ingredients to decide whether I’ll keep it.

Still, all in all happy with the box and a little sad it’s only every other month.

Kara

Is the mannakadar product made in PRC (China)? If so – it’s a no go for me.

Reply ButtonReply

ElizabethJ

I am not sure if they are all the same, but on mine the scent is listed on the back on the top part (the flap.) The scent is written in french, so that might be why you cant tell. Mine says ‘Parfum Vanille’.

Jinytte

Thanks for the info! Mine had a black tape/label strip across the top back flap. ¤_¤ Guess I’ll have to take it out of the plastic wrap and remove the tape. Weird. Wonder why mine was covered?

In case anyone is wondering, if the ingredients haven’t changed, the MannaKadar 3 in 1 contains talc, mineral oil, and 2 parabens. I couldn’t copy the whole list of ingredients, that page wouldn’t let me.

Adeline

I received the chevron but would love to swap for the pearl if anyone is interested let me know 🙂

LLB and Serendipity are both great sub boxes. I’m never disappointed. The quality is always very high and the curation feels very well planned. It’s literally as though I have a close friend who purchased a gift for me. I’m quite sure that it is luck of the draw, but it seems that I always receive the color and style choices I prefer. Maybe they are secretly all pretty good and whichever one I get I end up loving. Who knows. I received the layered pearl necklace. Love it! Both options are cute, but I’m definitely more of a classic styled gal. Love that it is two separate necklaces. It’s terrific and can’t wait to wear it. Not a fan of makeup in boxes–ever. I will give it a whirl. It’s nice to have in my purse on travel trips just in case my luggage is lost or I decide I need a quick refresher. The hand butter— I thought I couldn’t love any shea butter product as much as the Lollapalooza, but this is very nice. Very nurturing and absorbs quickly. I received the Starflower fragrance and I like it very much. I will undoubtedly purchase more from your online shop (shocker!). I first thought the sachet was bath salts. Either is terrific. I am very happy to have a smell good for my linen chest. Smells fresh and calming. LOVE the headband. I have several (not this nice!!) that I use daily when washing my face. I also love them when applying weekly masks. This is seriously a heavenly find. THANK YOU! The value of this box is just unbelieveable. You ladies (and gents??) are the heros to bring me delictable gifts right to my door to lighten the load of my daily grind. My husband thanks you for my amazing mood, too! 🙂

I just added this subscription so this is my first box; I enjoyed the curation and feel it is a good value. First, they place in a simple box with basic packing which is just fine with me ( I would rather they spent money on the contents; I don’t like all that packing waste of some boxes though understand opening the box can be part of the excitement). I got the pearl necklace, delicate and versatile. My sachet had the famous french black cat “Chat Noir” poster pic and though I can’t quite place the blended scents, it is very nice–and powerful. Love the Amande hand butter, I adore all things almond. I will gift the blush highlighter but love the look and feel of the headband as I have a lot of masks and will use it frequently. If you are looking for something a little different and fun at an affordable price, I would recommend this box!

I thought this was a really nice box. I got the Chevron necklace(which I’m happy with),the coconut creme(I like),and the Rose scented sachet(hate rose scented anything). Huge fan of the head wrap(surprisingly),and am grateful for all your “tips”. My highlighter was just a pile of dust but thanks to someone on this site(another post) I now know how to “fix” it;) I really am impressed with how much we get for the amount we pay.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

How do u fix it? I have a different powder that came crushed and am not sure what to do with it.

Reply ButtonReply

katie

Just add a few drops of alcohol and pat in place. Let sit overnight. Almost like new:)

Jennifer

I would totally cut a slit in the headband to slip small ice packs inside. The best headache packs wrap around your whole head!

I got the Chevron. I would much have preferred the pearl as it is my birthstone. Really fond of the headband though.

I thought it was a very nice box, I got the coconut scent and I adore the lotions in those tubes so I’m happy 🙂 I got the chevron but would have preferred the pearls given the choice but that’s ok.

Liz or Haley- I never got the email with this review. I got the Rob Vices and the Lip Monthly, but this one never showed up. If its just a glitch with me then its not a big deal, but I wanted to let you know in case it didnt go out to anyone.

I thought this was a nice box but I wish I’d gotten the chevron necklace and any scent but lavender hand cream. It seems like whenever there are variations, I don’t get the one I hoped for. Maybe that happens to everyone!

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

Would love to trade my chevron necklace for your version.

Reply ButtonReply

Maria

I’d be happy to trade for the pearl necklace! I’m not a fan of the chevron

Reply ButtonReply

Maya

I can see why there aren’t any spoilers from the company as the spoilers didn’t impress me. After opening the box and having the items in hand I love them all! I’m going to keep and gift a few things!

If I sent someone to shop for a nice surprise for myself and gave them $10 and they came back with the contents of this box I’d say “well done! And do it again!”

This box is a home run for me. I really like everything. I was hoping for the Chevron necklace but I got the pearl version, which I like much more than I thought I would (I’ll try to swap for the chevron, too). I got lavender for both sachet and hand cream, which is great. The headband will get used tonite for my weekly mask, and I’m always down to try a new highlighter/shadow. And all for $10?! Color me thrilled.

Cindy

Got the chevron and prefer the pearl. I think I’m no longer on the swap board but would love to trade.

Reply ButtonReply

beckyloo

I am on the swap boards trying to swap the chevron necklace for the pearl necklace, if you are interested!

JoEtta

I really liked this one. I didn’t think I would like the chevron necklace (I’m more a pearl girl) but it’s not bad and I like how long it is. The pieces are individually done in the chevron which makes it look nicer to me rather than one piece. I got the lavender sachet and starflower lotion. Both smell great. For $10 I thought it was a great box. Between this one and my two globe in subs for August I feel very spoiled 🙂

This is my second box, and I was very disappointed with the first one. But, this one is great for me! And I don’t even like the highlighter or the necklace. I got the pearl one. I don’t wear gold, but if I did it would make a nice costume jewelry piece. However, I have lots of friends who would be more than willing to take it off my hands I’m sure! 🙂 That being said, I think the headband is nice since I usually use a cheapy, plastic one to pull my hair back when I wash my face at night. And I love the sachet! That alone is worth the price of the box for me. The artwork was beautiful and I love lavender. Also, the lotion will be used so I consider this one a win!

I put my perfume sachet in my bathroom last night. (My bathroom door stays shut for cleanliness because I have pets.) It smelled so good when I went in there last night! I moved the sachet to my linen closet before I left for work, so I’m excited to go home and smell my linens lol.

Agreed, not my favorite Serendipity box, but I still love it! For $10, this is an outstanding box!
