I had a couple of “helpers” for the unboxing…

The box came with this information card.  This month’s theme was patriotic.

petgiftboxcat-july-2016-sparkleball

Multipet Sparkle Ball – Value $5.57

This has a texture Mr. Kitty will like on his appetite stimulant days (it’s a long story) and feathers, too.

Petstages Energize Green Magic Dynamite – Value $3.49

This was the clear winner this month. I had to take it away from my cats last night because Monkey was licking it incessantly while I was trying to sleep. The catnip was so strong, even *I* could smell it.

Spot Kitty Fun Bopper – Value $3.93

This lights up when you throw it down on the floor. But, the lights don’t show when I take still photos. Sneaky had fun chasing it around the dining room.

Dr. Daniels Catnip Toy for Cats (Uncle Sam) – Value $2.99

Monkey liked this a lot, too. He was rubbing his chin all over it. I think “catnip toy for cats” is a bit redundant, though…

Buddy Biscuits Grain Free Cat Treats with Tender Chicken (3 oz) – Value $2.99

These are grain free semi-moist treats that are made in the USA. We’ve had these before so I know my guys (and gal) like them.

Sneaky found a lot to bite in this month’s box. I like it when Sneaky bites things.

It’s a bit hard to capture but Monkey was rubbing his chin all over this toy.

I never get tired of looking at pictures like this of Mr. Kitty.

All the toys belong to Basement Cat!

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $19 for the July Pet GiftBox for cats. That is quite a bit lower than the month-to-month cost of the box, even considering that some of the prices quoted above are Amazon and Chewy.com sale prices. I am conflicted about this box, though. Even though the value was low, my cats loved every single item in the box. In terms of my cats’ preferences for toys, this is one of the best cat boxes in recent memory. I wish at least one more item had been included to round out the value, though.

What do you think of the July Pet GiftBox? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?

I have had this subscription for a year and a half and love spoiling my kids but think I’m going to cancel. I’ve been disappointed in the toys for the past several boxes. I think I will subscribe to Purr Packs as it seems to be pretty consistent in spoiling the kitties. I had to remove the ribbon immediately because my boy was already chewing on it.

I took the Blue Ribbon off the cat nip toy since it was loose and I was afraid my cats would take it off. It is somewhat glued on but barely.

The “value” is on the low side, but look at how happy those cars are!! Adorable kitties ?

I purchased a deal through groupon, a year back. We picked the dog box, and I was not impressed with the brands or quality of the toys or treats they sent. I cancelled.
