People's Choice Beef Jerky Tasting Kitchen Sriracha Jerky (2.5 oz.)- $6
People’s Choice Beef Jerky has a lot of different jerky products that incorporate various ingredients and techniques. Tasting Kitchen jerkies are “focused on crafting new and interesting flavors with fresh ingredients and simple techniques.” This flavor is made with lots of Sriracha and a blend of different spices. I love the flavor of this jerky! (Full disclosure, though, I had to get up halfway through my first piece to grab a glass of water— it’s spicy!)
People's Choice Beef Jerky Tasting Kitchen Sweet Chili Habanero Jerky (2.5 oz.)- $6
This flavor is made with pineapple juice and a mix of spices (including habanero, garlic, and paprika). I really like the sweetness of this jerky and the way the heat slowly builds up to a nice burn.
People's Choice Beef Jerky Hot & Spicy Clasic Jerky (3.25 oz.)- $6
People’s Choice is known as “the home of the big slab,” and after sampling this jerky I understand why. Unlike a lot of jerky that’s made in smallish pieces, this jerky comes in big sheets. Personally, I found the slabs a little difficult to bite into, so I ended up tearing off smaller pieces.
People's Choice Beef Jerky Hot & Spicy Beef Stick (1 stick)- $0.75
On the item list for this box, this beef stick is listed as a free bonus. The flavor was good, but I found this to be the least spicy item in the beef jerky subscription box. (Just something to keep in mind if you’re a lover of super spicy jerky like me!)
People's Choice Beef Jerky Carne Seca Limon Con Chile (2.5 oz.)- $6
The Carne Seca line of jerkies was inspired by “the diverse culinary tradition of Downtown Los Angeles.” All of the products in this line “feature all natural ingredients and a simplified process to showcase the deliciousness of traditional Carne Seca.” This flavor is made with guajillo chili powder, black pepper, salt, and lemon. It’s delicious.
People's Choice Beef Jerky Hot & Spicy Old Fashioned Jerky (2.5 oz.)- $6
People’s Choice Beef Jerky is a company that’s been around for generations, and their old fashioned jerky is crafted using a recipe that dates back to the 1920’s. “Cowboy-style cuts of beef” are tossed with cracked red pepper and salt and then slow-cooked for a minimum of five hours. This was another one of my favorites in this box. So good!
Verdict: I enjoyed sampling the different products available from People's Choice Beef Jerky. This was my first time trying their products, and I definitely discovered a few flavors that I really liked. (The Carne Seca Limon Con Chile, Hot & Spicy Old Fashioned, and Sriracha were all standouts for me!) The Some Like it Hot Jerky Box was a fun way to sample all of the spicy jerkies in the People’s Choice lineup. The boxes don’t themselves offer a savings over buying the included items individually, but if you set up a recurring subscription you’ll save 5% off the listed cost. (FYI- most of the boxes also contain bonus beef sticks.) If you’re a big fan of beef jerky, I can definitely recommend giving People's Choice Beef Jerky a try.
