Mine Chest Minecraft Subscription Box Review – June 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

After a build-up of MONTHS, Mine Chest is finally shipping out their monthly packages! This was the second box my kids got, and they were super excited! They are HUGE Minecraft addicts, and this box delivers official and exclusive Minecraft items every month!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Mine Chest

The Cost: $29.99 + $7 shipping = $36.99 per month

The Products: A box filled with officially licensed and often exclusive Minecraft swag!

Ships to: US only

This month’s theme is The Nether! This info card is also a cool hologram. I just wanted to note that we received our package well past the end of June. It’s not a big deal to me, but I know some people are concerned about that sort of thing.

This is the information card that was included, and it’s written up very cleverly in postcard style. The box (pictured above) is also a collectible, and subscribers are encouraged to keep them and build in real life just like in the game! We don’t really have the space for it in our home, but maybe we can collect them for a few months…

I Heart Nether Tee – Value $15?

This tee is a Mine Chest exclusive, and it was a big win for my ten-year-old! He really liked it, and it fit him well, too.

DIY Crafting Recipe

So far we have received a crafting recipe in every box! This month’s crafting recipe is how to make a ghast kite! I don’t know what that is exactly, but it looks pretty cool.

Mine Chest Exclusive Sticker – Value $1?

This is a pretty big sticker, and my eight-year-old was really happy to add it to his collection.

Stamp Block and Ink Pad – Value $7?

This is another Mine Chest exclusive! They sent a stamp and block last month, too. Can you guess what the stamp image is? That’s right, it’s another cube.

Hot Wheels Minecraft Mine Cart – Value currently $6.99

This doesn’t seem to be for sale online anywhere any more except eBay, so the link provided may not work for long. In any case, this is a Mine Cart, and it’s a pretty essential piece of Minecraft swag. Although I can definitely see gizmodo’s opinion, too.

Minecraft End Stone Series 6 Mini Figure Mystery Box – Value $4.20 each

Hooray for mystery boxes!

Here are the little guys who were in the mystery boxes. My kids told me who they are, and they were all excited about them! I can’t comprehend or retain any information about Minecraft. I’m doing my best, but it seriously makes my eyes glaze over.

Here’s a closer look at the little purple guy.

Verdict: This was another great box from Mine Chest! It’s a great follow-up to their first box! The kids loved everything and were excited by it all. I think the value of everything this month adds up to about $38, which just clears the cost of the box. I would love to see Mine Chest push this value a little higher. Otherwise, I think Mine Chest is off to a strong start!

  1. My son is loving this box. He keeps asking when the next one will arrive. I too wish they would push the value a bit higher on the items. I feel I’m not getting the value of other boxes, but with my son loving it soooooo much I can not cancel.

  2. My daughters are both playing minecraft now. In fact, my soon to be 10 year old is having a minecraft party. This box seems like it would be a good gift for a Minecraft addict, but every month does seem like a bit much for minecraft! I just ordered these special characters that they watch on youtube from etsy:
