Love with Food always include coupons and sometimes throw in little samples of beauty products. A few months ago, they threw in a Tieks coupon, which became a hot commodity in our forum!

Mini JimmyBar Clean Snack Bar No Bluffin Banna Muffin - $1.37

I've tried these bars from JimmyBar before, and I really like them. They are dairy and gluten-free. The ingredients list is blissfully short: dates, bananas, almonds, crisp brown rice, and walnuts. I really loved this, and will probably purchase some to keep around the house.

YumEarth Natural Sour Beans - $0.79

These sour beans are all-natural, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten free. They are pretty good, and they come in a size that would be perfect for kids' lunch pails!

Pur Mojito Lime Mint - $2.49

I like the idea of Pur gum, but it looses its flavor too quickly for me. This gum is aspartame, gluten, and diary free, with no GMOs and it's also vegan! If you want a quick thrill, these are pretty tasty - but again, it will be a quick thrill.

LWF6

Barney Butter Snack Pak Almond Butter Smooth - $0.60

Almond Butter packs are great for traveling or just when you're out for a bit and need a quick, protein filled snack. I like to pair it with apple slices or a banana, but I've been known to eat it as is too! This is my first time trying almond butter from Barney Butter, and I really did like it!

Luna Protein Berry Greek Yogurt Bar - $1.79

I am not a protein bar girl. If I am going to eat - I want to eat real food, not a bar (unless it's a brownie or cookie cut into a bar...but that's a different story). This one, despite the shade I throw at protein bars, was pretty good. I liked the berry yogurt flavor.

LWF7

Pure Growth Organic Popcorn Sea Salt Flavor - $0.90

This popcorn was really great - and would go over smashingly with any little girl that loves Disney. This would be perfect to throw into a lunch box for a quick, light snack.

Trujoy Sweets Organic Bunny Shaped Lollipop - $0.16

This lollipop is vegan, dairy and gluten free, organic and non-gmo. It is supposed to look like a bunny, but mine looks like a flattened bunny if that. I saved this one for one of my nieces.

LWF8

Pretzel Perfection Twice-Baked Tomato Basil Pretzel Sticks - $1.25

These area really good! I've only ever seen these in Starbucks, but I hadn't tried them yet. They are slightly sweet, slightly salty, and fully delicious. I could eat these all day and all night. They would be fabulous with dip too! As an added bonus, they only have 110 calories per serving.

Chef's Cut Original Real Steak Jerky Original Recipe - $3.50

My mom tried this one, and said it was pretty average beef jerky. She did like it, but said it wasn't all that much better than the average beef jerky you can buy at Target. This beef jerky contains soy and anchovies.

Verdict: The value of this Love with Food box is about $12.85, which is really good for a Love with Food box. The snacks this month were nicely varied, and all of them seem to be high-quality. I enjoyed trying a new flavor of Pur gum (I received a coupon for this brand too), since I've given up on buying it. I also received a coupon for Naked Wines and a coupon for Bali's Best Green Tea candy. I don't generally count coupons into the value of the box, since you usually have to spend more to take advantage of the coupon, but I like to mention them!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

This was my first box since the welcome/add on box I got when I signed up. My whole family liked this. Hubby stole the jerky (He already loves that brand) He says it’s one of his favorites because it’s still tender. The kids got the jelly beans, pop corn and sucker. They were very well received. I tried almost everything else, and I really loved the pretzels! Can’t wait for next month.

I’ve only tried he lollipop and the jellybeans from my box….I enjoyed both. Wasn’t sure what I’d eat the almond butter with since I’m really not a fan but I think I’ll try with apples as suggested.

I really liked the pretzels too. It was salty and sweet and full of flavor, which for me is a good thing. I also really liked the beef jerky. It was very tender and soft, which was off putting at first but then I just really liked it more in comparison to normal jerky which is harder. I’m not one of those people that goes out of my way to make sure what i’m eating is ‘healthy’ or meets certain standards nutrition wise. Commuting between work and classes means that if I don’t have grabbable snacks available to take with me and eat on the road, then I likely won’t have a chance to eat ALL day until I get home late at night, in which case most of the time I’ll over eat or just get fast food due to the ease. I’m more likely to end up just drinking my calories throughout the day to get something into my system. So having snack options easily accessible and a variety sent each month is a plus for me. Also, the boxes seem to be getting better size wise with the snacks lately whereas a few months ago I was contemplating cancelling because of it.

The PUR were one of my favorite items. Not sure why you thought it was a gum though, they are mints and really good at freshening. I am heading over now to buy the 5pk with my points.

I thought the jerky was a nice tender jerky, really tasty. Love the sour beans and the Jimmy bar… Luna bar’s are a staple in my house for a quick go bar, this one was great. Liked everything aside from the pretzels which I just don’t like pretzels…

Both the pretzels and the Luna bar were loaded with sugar. I do eat protein bars fairly regularly (you get a really good macronutrient balance for the calories) but I prefer ones that are lower in sugar. This one had half as much sugar as a Snickers bar. I would hate for someone to come across one of those and mistake it for a healthy food!

I have tried dozens of protein bars at this point, and you really have a choice — better flavor or less sugar. The other issue I have with the lower sugar bars is that they use some sort of high-fiber sweetener like corn fiber, IMOs, etc. and you end up having a bar that is super high in fiber (20 grams in some!), or they use sugar alcohols.. all of these things can cause GI distress in many people (including myself). “Healthy” is really a relative term depending on one’s own needs/issues. Having excessive gas sure isn’t healthy for me (or those around me) LOL!

I like the ones with high fiber — much more filling. Fiber is one of those things you need to ease into, but most Americans don’t get nearly enough. And it is so important for digestive health (and even cholesterol levels) and for providing a healthy environment for gut bacteria. But, it helps to drink a lot of water with the fiber and take a good probiotic as well. (Whereas one of these Luna bars contains 60% of the daily recommended added sugar intake for a woman, according to the American Heart Association! Might as well eat a candy bar.) I will grant you that some people do have issues with sugar alcohols (I am not one of them — actual sugar causes me much more trouble, and is also bad for triglyceride levels in general).

Those pretzel sticks are probably my all-time favorite LWF snack from like the past 2 years lol. SO DELICIOUS. I wish they sold in actual stores like Target or Walmart or something.
