Lip Monthly-description card back

Each Lip Monthly box comes with a card detailing each product inside the bag. It includes prices along with a note from the Lip Monthly team. I love the glitter chevron on this month’s card, it reminds me of beach waves.

Lip Monthly-products1

Peony Cosmetics Pink Glow Luminizing Stick– FULL SIZE! $22.00

I really like the packaging on this highlighter. I also like how it has a rounded tip for easy application. According to the website it’s a gel-based crayon that delivers a flattering hybrid of pink, gold and luminescence. It’s cruelty-free, paraben free and phthalates free which is always a plus. The color itself is subtle & sheer with a radiance shine so it is a great addition to my makeup drawer-keeper!

Jelly Pong Pong Balloons Lip Butter– FULL SIZE! $18.95

The texture of this lipstick is amazing! I can see where it gets its name because it really does feel like butter on your lips. I also like the balloons on the packaging. When I first saw the brown-spice color I loved it- then I put it on. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m more tan than usual, but it looked like a frosty finish when I applied it (womp womp). I’m going to wait and try it once I get back to my normal color before I give it away.

Chrislie Measurable Difference Lip Color Stick– FULL SIZE! $13.00

At first glance this crayon appears vampy. However it’s actually a sheer plum once you put it on. It goes on super smooth and is very moisturizing. I’m not extremely impressed with the color pigment, but since it is so moisturizing I’m keeping it!

Be a Bombshell Lip/Cheek Stick in Sweetness– FULL SIZE! $16.00

This 3 in 1 stick is for cheeks, eyes and lips. It’s a warm pinky taupe and goes on very smooth. I’ve gotten this same lip/cheek stick in an Ipsy bag but in a different color. I really like the sweetness color but I hardly ever used my other stick and I doubt I will use this one so I’m gifting!

Swatches: Jelly Pong Pong Balloons Lip Butter (top) and Peony Cosmetics Pink Glow Luminizing Stick (bottom).

Swatches: Chrislie Measurable Difference Lip Color Stick (on top) and Be a Bombshell Lip/Cheek Stick in Sweetness (bottom)

Verdict: This month’s Lip Monthly bag was pretty average. I wasn’t disappointed nor over the moon about most of the products. However I am pretty excited about the Peony Pink Glow Luminzing Stick! This bag totals up to $69.95 which is great given the $12.95 purchase price of the bag. I think that the Lip Monthly team is stepping up the products given, it just didn’t work for me this month.

What do you think about June’s Lip Monthly bag? What did you think about your bag this month?

  1. I subbed after seeing QueenOfBlendings snapchat unboxing of lip monthly. I planned on using her discount code but didn’t need to. So they debited the money from my account a week ago and I’ve seen people receive their lip monthly boxes and I haven’t even received so much as an email nor box. I emailed them and they replied with an automated email saying they’d respond to me as soon as possible. That was 3 days ago. I went to their Instagram page and I wish I would have done that before subscribing!! So many unhappy customers! Their response is always the same! They’re receiving a high volume of emails and will respond as soon as they can. Some subscribers haven’t received their boxes and it’s been weeks or months.

  2. This was my first bag from them but I liked it… I ordered another since I didnt realize it renewed.. ANYWAY it says you can leave reviews for points but mine doesn’t show an active subscription.. I should have Julys soon..

  3. I just went to a bi-monthly sub on this instead of monthly (you can find this option in your account if you think about cancelling but don’t want to opt-out entirely)…and the reason? I’ve gotten so much useable stuff in the past few months that I wanted more time to actually USE it before more came, haha! Suffice it to say I like this one.

  4. All I see are same brands, same shades, same horribly gross smelling bag, repeat after repeat. Every month! There is no excitement here!

  5. I, too, got the bag with the Jello shot. From what I’m seeing, if you used a coupon code for 50% off, they sent you the old bag. My sis subscribed but didn’t get a code to use and got a completely different bag.

  6. I’m diving in!
It looks pretty darn good for the price with the discount codes, and I love trying new lippies!

  7. This is my first month with them and it appears they sent me Mays bag and called it July, which I just find weird.

    • I also just got my “July” bag today and it was the May bag. I’m happy since I really, really wanted the Jello Shot. The rest will probably be up for swap.
But does that mean that our next “August” bag will be this June bag? I hope not since I don’t really want any of the items from this bag. Though depending on the ingredients I might keep the Peony or the Be A Bombshell.

      • Me too! I’m kinda annoyed. I think I’m going to email them..

        • The same thing happened to me with the May bag for July, which I’m so bummed about. Especially since I subbed based on the lip plumper spoiler. I emailed them but have not received a response. Did you get any response?

  8. I’m going to sub to this after I cancel birch box.

    • I’m considering doing the same thing.

  9. Ive been thinking about trying lip monthly but it seems like a lot of the colors are pinks and reds, which I’m not a huge fan off.

    • True, but there have been a few nudes in the last few months, including this month so its not entirely boring 🙂

  10. My first bag will arrive in August. I subbed last week after seeing new reviews. Lip monthly has definitely stepped up their game. I really like everything in this bag! Great for summer. Can’t wait to start receiving mine ?

    • Me too!! First one coming in August and I’m psyched, but if it sucks,,I’m just gonna cancel and pick a new box

  11. I Cancelled birchbox And I’m Trying This For A Bit.

  12. This looks like a nice assortment to me. I subbed for a couple of months over a year ago and was not impressed, but I agree, it looks like they’re working to improve things. I’m keeping an eye on this one.

I do not like their bags, though. They just aren’t attractive at all to me. And the ones I received smelled awful. :/

    • Hmmm, can’t say I’ve noticed a smell with the bags, granted they aren’t the best ones out there but the contents makes up for it for me. With these ones I don’t care if they get dirty or lost, I guess, lol!
