Julep Polish Mini in Mari

Mari is a bright fuchsia shimmer polish described by Julep as "Peony linear liquid holographic". It's such a bright jewel-tone with fine specs of glitter. It goes on very nicely.

Julep Polish Mini in Shawn

This is one of my favorite colors in the box. It's a bright red-pink color. Julep describes it as a poppy color, which made me expect a red with orange undertones. I still really like this shade even though it leans pink.

Julep Polish Mini in Janet

Janet is a sheer pale peach color. It's nice for french manicures or when you want a simple, clean nude-look nail.

Julep Polish Mini in Tilda

Tilda is a special effect polish that is intended as a shimmer top coat. Julep describes it as a "green pearlescent silk top coat" but I'd describe it as a touch of mermaid shimmer.

Julep Polish Mini in Ming

Ming is a sheer orchid (light purple) color for a twist on the typical sheer pink.

Julep Polish Mini in Hazel

Hazel is a rich jewel tone purple with a bronze duochrome shimmer. It's a very bold and pretty color!

Julep Polish Mini in Delores

Delores is described as "Iris linear liquid holographic." It's a medium purple with blue-grey undertones. The fine glitter in the polish is where the "holographic" description comes in, there are so many pretty colors reflected in the glitter.

Julep Polish Mini in Cassandra

Cassandra is a deep red wine color. It's very dramatic deep red with purple-brown undertones.

Julep Polish Mini in Penny

I really love this coppery-bronzey shimmer polish! It's a glitter but still counts as a neutral (in my mind at least!). It separates easily so you'll want to make sure it's mixed well before applying.

Julep Polish Mini in Bianca

Bianca is a glitter top coat with medium-sized holographic glitter. The glitter is uniform in size and mixed in a clear base. I put it overtop of the Brandis color in my nail art (check it out below).

Julep Polish Mini in Brandis

Brandis is a bright and cheerful teal/turquoise color. It is a solid color with no shimmer and suits the jewel tones of this gift set very well!

Julep Polish Mini in Danielle

Julep describes Danielle as "Cerulean wave duochrome" and I'd describe it as a bright blue polish with purple iridescent shimmer. This works well with the deep reds and purples featured in the Cover set!

JulepCoveted-040

I wanted to try to use as many minis as possible, so I did this nail art look. It's a lot of look and isn't for everyone, but it was fun! I used 8 of the 12 polishes, can you spot which ones?

JulepCoveted-061 JulepCoveted-047

Verdict: I think this is a fantastic intro to Julep polishes. They've chosen a great mix of the types of polishes you can get from Julep (sheer, duochrome, glitter, creme, etc.) and they all still work together. The packaging is very nice and the mini polishes are adorable! If you're familiar with regular Julep polish sizes and wondering how the minis compare, regular size is .27 fl oz (8ml) and mini size is .12ml (3ml). Minis are a little shy of half the size of the regular polishes.

If you are interested in the Julep Maven subscription, there's no better way to get started! And good to know about Julep - you can skip any month you aren't interested in.

Thank you so much!

Thank you for the precise shade descriptions. Julep’s are woefully lacking and I don’t always know what to expect when ordering polish from them.
Julep could do with you on their copywriting team!

Wow, nice job on the manicure. I really struggle to get a good, clean edge on my polish at the cuticle, but you obviously have this down! Maybe you can do a tutorial for us. 🙂

Agreed! And a cute np set, I love minis.

I was always curious– what camera / app do you use? I always thought it was some filter, but seeing how you captured the shades of all nail colors so clearly, I just have to know!

Hi! For these photos I used my DSLR (Nikon), natural light, and Adobe Lightroom to edit. Hope that helps!

I’m so excited to try Julep! I just signed up last week, but got the happy summer code that gave me 4 polishes, a lipstick, and a contour powder. Seems like a great sub!

I love my Julep Maven sub! Its the one I’ve had the longest (which is saying a lot, fickle as I am with these things ?) Great customization (no guessing/no repeats yay!), point/reward system & abilty to skip months-which my budget is grateful for! (Thier new np thinner was still OOS last I checked though, ugh, and I’ve heard it’s amazing)

The Julep minis are just too adorable! I couldn’t resist ordering when this was released. Now if only I could get my nails to look as good as yours I would be thrilled ?

Kath

Hi
Any idea How can u grt these minis if u already have a sub with julep?
Thanks

Steffy

Sometimes they have them listed separately under gifts, sets, in the sale and/or secret store area, the Jule box area, and around the holidays. Not sure you can get it free the same way unless its a new sub but I have seen it for sale and/or as a GWP from time to time, along with other sets and such.

Jennifer

I tried to sign up and its saying the giftcovet is not valid 🙁 I’m SOOOOO sad

Beautiful! I want to do Julep but I just have too many boxes as it is.

On a side note, does anyone else think of the Ice Truck Killer from Dexter when they see the picture of the hand with the different color polishes? ?

Luna

I didn’t until you mentioned it. Good memory! 🙂

Annie

I don’t know if I’m more impressed with your nail art or photography skills. Both are beautiful. Well done!

Donna B

I have to add kudos for the photography or processing, and your beautiful hands! I also enjoy your color descriptions – that can be hard to do.

Emily Cosnotti

Thanks so much, Donna! Describing colors is tough business, I don’t always trust my eyes!

Emily Cosnotti

Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun with this one, those mini bottles are just too cute 🙂
