A few weeks ago, FabFitFun threw a Summer Soirée to celebrate the launch of the Summer 2016 edition of their subscription box. They invited My Subscription Addiction and I was lucky enough to get to attend!

When this shows up in your inbox, you don’t ask questions. You just RSVP.

The Summer Soirée was at the Nail Bar & Beauty Lounge on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills.

The Summer Soirée was actually the second time I met several members of the FabFitFun family. The first time I met some of them was when MSA co-hosted the FabFitFun Facebook Live event which was a first look at the add-ons for the summer box. They were great! So welcoming from the start. They call themselves a family and the name is definitely fitting. FFF fun fact: the Co-CEOs and Co-Founders of FabFitFun, Michael and Daniel, are brothers!

Of course, the summer subscription box was there. I love the cute box designs FabFitFun does now! Check out our review of the summer box here!

The invitation was not kidding about beauty treatments, cocktails, food, and more.

There was food everywhere to try.

fff_summer2016_laughing_glass

Laughing Glass Margaritas. (I couldn’t even tell they were low calorie.)

fff_summer2016_h2rOse

H2rose. I had never tried this before, but it was also very good.

fff_summer2016_popchips

Popchips of all kinds. I personally like the sour cream & onion flavor the best. Popchips is based in LA and is a local favorite.

My first FabFitFun subscription box was the Winter 2014 edition. After that I was hooked, but en route to the Facebook Live event I realized that as much as I love their box and look forward to it every season, I actually didn’t know that much about FabFitFun itself. Now that I have been around them more and have started to get to know them, I can tell you that to know them is to love them. I am totally impressed with everyone I have met so far. They are always thinking about how to put together the best possible box. Michael also told me they are really proud of their customer care and it is extremely important to them that any possible issue that arises is taken care of quickly. They really want their subscribers to be happy.

A sign mentioning the companies in the summer subscription box.

Another fun fact: FabFitFun reads MSA. (Side note to all subscription box companies, read MSA! Seriously. All the best subscription boxes do.) So if you have thoughts about what is in the summer box, a favorite item from the past you love, what you hope to see in a future edition of their subscription box, or anything, feel free to put these in the comments! FFF will read it.

There was a bar set up serving both of these drinks for the night. Midori Sour is one of my all-time favorite drinks so I was happy to see these.

fff_summer2016_midori

Very refreshing.

You know what goes with a drink like that?

fff_summer2016_komodo_tacos2

Tacos!

fff_summer2016_komodo_tacos1

Komodo has Mexican-Asian fusion restaurants and a food truck in LA. It is another local favorite, but surprisingly enough, I have never had their food. The tacos had a different twist that was fun to try so that was pretty cool.

You know what comes after tacos?

Wow. These were almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

Let’s look around some more and check out a beauty treatment or two!

fff_summer2016_loungedecor4

I met Katie Rosen KitchensFabFitFun’s Co-Founder and Editor in Chief, for the first time at the Summer Soirée. She was fabulous! I can tell you she is definitely passionate about curating this box. One of the first things she asked me when I met her was what are we missing, what do you hope to see next, etc.

fff_summer2016_loungedecor3

Also, I found out that Liz is not the only person who wakes up in the middle of the night thinking about subscription boxes. Katie is also in that club! Katie curated the FFF box by herself for quite a while, but FabFitFun is growing quickly and she has a small team that helps her now. Another FFF fun fact: Katie and Lisa Sugar of POPSUGAR were…wait for it…sorority sisters in college! That is right, you heard it here first, folks! Maybe something was in the water….

fff_summer2016_loungedecor5

fff_summer2016_loungedecor6

Katie and I talked about some of our favorite items in past boxes. She mentioned one thing that they are working on that I know Liz has been hoping to see in a subscription box for a while now. I cannot tell you what it is, but I can tell you it sounds awesome and I am super excited to see it!

fff_summer2016_nails0

This was one of the polish racks.

I opted for a deep red. My nail technician was very bubbly and fun.

fff_summer2016_nails1

She did a great job on my nails while chatting with me and dancing to the party music. I don’t know how she did it.

fff_summer2016_nails2

Love that color.

fff_summer2016_nails3

fff_summer2016_nails4

Time to check out the brow bar!

fff_summer2016_browbar1

Very popular place. I decided to look around some more and try back later.

fff_summer2016_suja1

More drinks! I decided to grab one while I looked around.

fff_summer2016_suja2

Super cute dog who was totally calm even though it was pretty crazy in there! Also, a quintessential LA picture. Love it.

Party people!

fff_summer2016_browbar2

Back to the brow bar. Still busy. I decided to enjoy the music and people watching while I waited.

fff_summer2016_dj

There were tons of people at the party and everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves. I know I was having fun! I recognized a Real Housewife and I know there was a Bachelorette or two in the mix. Several other people looked very familiar even if I couldn’t quite place them.

I want to do a quick shout out to my new friend, Kirsten Collins.

fff_summer2016_kirsten_collins

We met waiting in line for the brow bar. She is a powerhouse singer and has an amazing voice. You know how when you meet someone and they have something magnetic about them? I have since come to find out she is a beautiful girl inside and out. If you don’t know who she is, you should. The last time I remember thinking this about a singer was when I saw Sara Bareilles in 2004 at a piano bar in LA. Sometimes you just know.

fff_summer2016_kirsten_collins1

Kirsten wasn’t scheduled to sing at the party, but she did by request. So fun!

After that, I decided to grab one of those gift bags I started to see everyone carrying everywhere.

fff_summer_2016_swag

Too late--they were gone! Major party fail on my part! I should have known better that those would not last!

The good news is that FabFitFun posted the contents of the bags on their Instagram account:

fff_summer_2016_swag_instagram

And on their Snapchat account:

fff_summer_2016_swag_snapchat

so at least we can all see what was in there.

PSA: If you are not following FabFitFun on Instagram or Snapchat, you should. They are prolific posters and are constantly putting up contests, awesome giveaways, behind-the-scenes peeks, etc. All kinds of good stuff. Do not miss out like I did on the gift bag!

Also, if you are interested in the summer box, right now we are in the middle of an awesome 50% off deal for 3 days only for new subscribers!

Thank you so much to FFF for having us! It was a blast.

What do you think of the FabFitFun summer box? Do you have a favorite item from a past box you love? What do you hope to see in the future?

I did not cry, but I definitely learned my lesson!

Those were awesome, huh?! FFF knows how to throw a party! ?

katie

You are so lucky to be able to go to those parties~ I am jealous!

You are so right! The party was very fun and it was so nice of them to invite MSA! ?
I was very lucky that I got to go. ?

A Real Housewife and some Bachelorettes?! So jealous!!! FFF was my first real venture in to the world of subscription boxes and I’m so glad it was! I always look forward to getting that box…more than any other because of the variety and quality of the products. I know that I will love everything in the box. And I love that I can make the box extra special with add-ons! I get the add-ons and put them away for special occasions. I have two teen daughters and they feel extra special when I let them shop the “bin” (a plastic bin that I keep all of the things from sub. boxes that I don’t immediately use)!!

Looks so fun!

My wishlist for FFF would be One Love Organics! And it’d be fun to have some sort of fun snack in the box. I’ve only gotten one box (last winter) but I think my favorite thing in the box was the Picture It On Canvas gift card – I used it for some great Christmas gifts.

But the best thing ever would be a FFF / MSA collab box! Maybe somehow each reviewer could help pick an item and then us addicts could vote on one too? I don’t know, but I know I’d love to see another MSA box ?

Randi,

You are totally right. The picture on canvas gift was amazing. I also used it for Xmas gift and it made her tear up when she opened it. Sometimes those gift cards hit the mark!

Ohh, I like your ideas!

Midori Sour is my favorite drink too! This looks like it was a lot of fun. That’s an insane swag bag. I’d probably have cried about missing out on it lol.

Yay for drink twins! It was totally my fault that I missed out on the amazing gift bag, but I promise you that will not happen again! ?
