The box included a letter reminding us that subscribers can buy more of the box items for $1 online. The back of the letter included a list of items in the box.
A note on prices: Items like this can come from a variety of different suppliers at many price points depending on how many you buy, etc. I couldn’t find a lot of these exact beads from common sources (e.g., Fire Mountain Gems) and it’s of questionable value to pick something similar because a slight difference in grading or size or material and you are looking at half or double the price (or an even greater difference). Even different colors of the same size and shape of glass beads are priced differently due to materials needed to make the colors!

These guys were missing from my box originally (that’s what makes the list on the back of the letter so handy). I contacted Dollar Bead Box and they sent me out a replacement that arrived in less than a week, plus a little extra (not pictured) for my troubles. It was wonderful customer service!
10 x 11 mm Opaque Green w/Travertine Triple-Cut Turban Bead (2)
I wish I had a fancy camera with lenses you could switch in and out instead of a point-and-shoot because I really feel like I could’ve captured so much more detail with these. We’ve gotten some other travertine beads from Dollar Bead Box in the past so I think I’m going to try to combine these beads with some of the past ones to create a piece.
10 x 10 mm Turquoise w/Travertine Table-Cut Bead (3)
I really like flat squares, and I think I received some beads in this or another box last month that will go well with these. I’ll just have to find them in my stash first. (Believe it or not, my craft supplies and beading stash is quite a bit bigger than my makeup and skincare stash…)
Two-Hole Antique Brass Slider Clasp
I used this in my necklace (pictured below, although the clasp isn’t in the photo). This is also magnetic, as I found when the chain I was working with kept sticking to it!
Brass w/Silver Plate Magnetic Clasp
This is going to be great in a bracelet. It is so hard to operate the clasps on bracelets one-handed, but this solves a lot of those problems.

I can never have enough clasps. And I have been very into multi-strand necklaces lately. This won’t be around for long.
6 mm Fire Polish Amethyst White Opal (24)
You’ll always get some fire polish Czech glass in Dollar Bead Box. These are a fun color combination and I used them in a necklace (see below).
8 mm Czech Glass Star Aqua Blue (24)
These are stars, but I thought they were flowers at first. Doesn’t matter, I still like them (because of my general obsession with flat shapes and pressed glass!). And I used them in my necklace alongside the purple beads also appearing in this photo.
5 x 7 mm Rose Gold Luster Pip (35)
I don’t have many beads like this in my collection. I think I need to get ahold of some rose gold finish metal beads to go with them.
10 x 5 mm Yellow Pearlized Tear Drop (25)
I don’t think I have any other beads with this finish. It’s a nice spring-y color that would look good with some other pastels.

Antique Brass Mermaid
I’m pretty sure this is meant to be a bookmark. I bought a whole bunch of little sea creature charms on Ali Express (octopuses, crabs, seashells, fish, etc.) and I have a lot of turquoise colored glass beads, so I think I will make a dangle using a bunch of those to complete this!
I have had this little obsession with vintage Japanese glass drops lately, plus I have been into the antique brass/bronze look, so I decided to create a necklace that reminded me of those things. I have several items in my wardrobe that combine these two colors so I know this will get a lot of use. I also used the slider clasp from the box in this necklace.
Verdict: I did not calculate a value for the June 2016 Dollar Bead Box, for reasons explained above. I loved getting clasps, I liked the mix of basics, centerpieces, and accent beads, and I had a really good customer service experience this month as well. The total cost works out to about $1.30 per item (I don’t pay shipping because I signed up for a 3-month subscription), which I think is a good value – some items might retail for a bit less, individually, but some, like the mermaid, would probably sell for quite a bit more than that, thus balancing out the cost.
Please note that no directions are given and you have to supply your own needles, stringing materials, tools, and findings.
