This June the theme is “Summer Essentials”. Our note from the Founder, Dana Hill says that summer gets so busy with fun activities, and we should remember to take time for ourselves and find some peace. So true! This box is filled with products to help us find our inner beauty through the summer months.

Creme of Nature – Perfect Edges Extra Hold Hair Gel – 2.25oz – $4.98

Definitely not in need of hair gel at this moment, but that’s ok. I’m starting to get use to seeing a hair gel every month from hair care subscriptions. LOL. It works just fine on the kiddos hair, but it is very thick. Hair needs to be damp and tangle free before application.

Naked Beaute – Conditioning Shave Bar – 1oz – $2.50

I’m loving this shave bar. It smells amazing and it didn’t strip my skin of its natural oils. I’m pretty low on my shave oil from the Honest Company, so this is great to have. It lathers up very quickly and it didn’t take but a minute for my hairs to soften up for shaving. Having the tin can in the shower was a bit awkward, but at least I have somewhere to put the bar back to preserve it from the shower water.

Everyday Botanical – Grapefruit Mango Natural Shower Gel – 2oz – $2.00

This shower gel smells so good! I love how thick it is and lathered well without stripping all my natural oils. I want more from this brand.

Beauty Pin Ups – Luxe Leave In Conditioner Spray – 2oz – $5.80

This leave in spray went really fast. I used it in all of our hair once and we are already half way through. I can’t say much about it. It smells very plain, but it didn’t leave our hair feeling sticky like some conditioning sprays. Also, the spray bottle itself sprays very evenly, so I’ll repurpose it again for a travel hair spray.

Badger – Tea Tree & Lemon Herbal Lip Care – 0.25oz – $2.99

I don’t get much lemon from this lip balm. My lips tingle from the tea tree oil and menthol which I’m not a fan of in hair or lip products. I’m passing this on to my hubby, John. He loves Carmex lip balms and this reminds me of it.

Ultra Sheen Supreme – Slayed Styling Lotion – 2oz – $2.99

This packaging is very unique! The lotion itself smells very sweet and is very thick. I haven’t tried it yet but have plans to use it in Abigail’s hair first. It says that it can be used in dry relaxed hair and damp natural hair to achieve various styles.

Naughty Cosmetics – Orgazmic Black Mascara– 0.3oz – $20.00

This is the first I’ve seen or heard of this brand. It says the black mascara color payoff is intense and glides on smoothly. I have other mascaras open at the moment, so I’ll try this one in a few weeks.

Verdict: This June COCOTIQUE had an estimated retail value over $41.00. I’m really pleased with receiving a nearly completely new to me curated box. I’m more than happy with my new shave bar and shower gel, and I’ll have get more products from Beauty Pin Ups and Naughty Cosmetics to see how well I like the brand to repurchase.

  1. I received the Cocoa Curl curl oil and moisture serum. They were nice size samples in easy to squeeze plastic bottles. I’ve been using oil on my hair right after I rinse out my conditioner and I needed more so this oil came in handy. The serum was okay, I feel I needed a thicker leave in to help with styling my hair.

This Cocotique box felt full of useful and new to me products. This was my last month of a three month subscription and I’m not renewing. The past few boxes haven’t wowed me for the price. I’m tempted, however, as July and August will be takeover boxes with Pink and Creme of nature products and I’d really love to try those products. I will see if I can buy the single August box itself on their site.

  2. Oh Wow I Wish I Would Have Ordered This Month Sub Box ❣❣Great Box ❣❣

  3. Looks like an interesting box and you get a good variety of products for the cost. I’ll give it a try once some of my other subs end.

  4. The Perfect Edges Gel is only for your edges. I was a subscriber to Cocotique for about 4 months when they first launched and I’ve yet to be wowed by any of their boxes. This one looks OK. That shave bar looks interesting!

  5. Hey the argan edge gel is only for your edges. That’s why its so thick. You run some on your edges and brush it in. Its not really for the whole head.

  6. Cocotique is often more of a miss for me than a hit but this looks like one of their better boxes! Very nice.
