BLUUM JUNE 2016 - BOX

Bluum
3.1 overall rating
24 Ratings | 12 Reviews

Bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies and toddlers. Their boxes are very customized – specific to the month of your child’s age. Also, they recently began allowing you to “build your own Bluum,” meaning you can even pick what products you’ll receive out of a very wide selection of items (one of my very favorite parts of this subscription!). However, subscribers can still skip choosing their items in order to still be surprised each month.

BLUUM JUNE 2016 - PACKAGING

The box I’m reviewing is customized from my preferences and choices for my son, who was born this past September! Because of this, my box may look completely different than someone else’s box.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

BLUUM JUNE 2016 - items 1

Babytime Sunny Sunscreen – 2.7 fl oz, value: $11.73

This mineral sunscreen works well. It’s a little hard to absorb but it’s not terrible. I like that it’s enriched with green tea and aloe.

Dreft Laundry Stain Remover Spray – 3 fl oz, value: $6

This 3 oz spray is perfect for keeping in my diaper bag! Which is a good idea with a baby so you can treat anything on-the-go and toss the clothes into a wet bag or plastic bag and wash it later! I like Dreft’s products in general so I’m happy to have this to try.

BLUUM JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 2

Oilogic Stuffy Nose & Cough Vapor Bath – 9 fl oz, value: $9.99

This is a concentration of 100% pure essential oils that are diluted for safety – you pour it in a warm bath and let your child hang out for a bit and breathe in the vapors. It’s supposed to help stuffy noses, coughs, and cold symptoms. I’m excited about this!

BLUUM JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 3

Melissa & Doug Caterpillar Grasping Toy – value: $8

I love Melissa & Doug toys, and this caterpillar is pretty fun and entertaining for Gideon.

BLUUM JUNE 2016 - items 4

He had a lot of fun trying to figure it out!

Verdict: I always pick my own products for my Bluum Boxes. I like the things I got this month! The value adds up to just over $35, which breaks even with the box. Since I chose my own items out of Bluum’s selection, I won’t complain about the value. These are products I’m happy to have.

What do you think about Bluum? What items did you pick this month?

I used to love bluum but my last four boxes have all had issues! They neglected to ship my May box and my August box came today missing three items INCLUDING one I paid extra for (something they call “bluum up.’) I canceled my subscription.

I bought a groupon for a 3 month subscription. I was really happy with my first box (i chose my own items). I really like that you have The option of getting random boxes or choosing your own products.
I had an issue with my 2nd box but costumer service was very helpful and gave me a free month to makeup for the error.
Definitely satisfied with this subscription.

Stay away from this subscription box. Customer service is terrible and the items are consistently low value. I read all the comments from prior reviewers and convienced myself that “that wont happen to me”. Ha – everything has happened.

Not sure how these people stay in buisness

I decided to give Bluum a try for my daughter because I got a 50% off coupon code and let me tell ya, such a HUGE disappointment. Such a rip off. I did get to pick what we got in the box so I knew what we were getting and the “value” of what it was (according to bluum) about $26 and the subscription costs $34 a month but maybe mine is less because of the discount…. idk. But not only that bothered me. The items are bad quality. Like, I feel like I could go find these at a dollar store… Only one thing came in packaging… I guess I’ll let the book slide though.. but the snack container had no packaging and the bubble bath had no plastic on it or any kind of seal. Makes me wonder if they had been previously opened or used. But anyways. Big rip off, stuff is junk (seriously), really disappointed. I cancelled.

I’ve been having issues since my last 5 boxes. Every time I try to customize my 4 items to put in the box, the choices available start disappearing. I thought this was a website glitch and had been battling with it snd Bluum for MONTHS now.

I finally received this response back stating that:

“The items you see available for the August box selections are currently what are available based on your child’s preferences and inventory. As you make choices some categories will show empty as the box must stay at a certain budget. You options available are based on what you select.

We are sorry that you are upset and hope that you can find items that you will love to receive in your box.”

WHAT??? No where on their website does it say anything about sticking to a budget! The fun of it was picking items that you enjoyed, regardless of the budget! There website claims “bluum choice is a feature that allows you to pick all of the products you receive in your monthly box, ensuring you get exactly what you want!”

Which is a complete lie. Not worth the frustration.

I only got two of the items I picked 🙁 I got an email saying one wasn’t available but didn’t get it in time to pick a new product. Wasn’t very happy with the replacements.
