I received 8 razor cartridges with 5 blades each. I used the razor today and really liked it. It gave me a nice, smooth shave and I didn't get any razor burn, which I am prone to. The 5 blade razor has an additional razor at the top for those 'hard-to-reach' areas as well.

The handle for the blades comes in two colors: La La Love Pink and California Kiss Blue.  I received the pink handle, which is fine by me! I found that the handle worked pretty well in the shower with slippery hands - it has grips and a bit of contouring that made it easy to grip.

Verdict: For $18 ($9 every two months), you get 8 cartridge blades and a razor handle (for your first month) that are really great quality. I honestly liked these razors better than many of the subscription box razors I've tried in the past - they seem like they work better for me. I think $18 for 8 razors is excellent - it works out to about $2.25 per razor, compared to about $5.00 per razor for the leading brand at Target!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Packaging is cute and the handle is sturdy. However, I did not like the blade. Definitely can only be used once and gave me razor burn after the first use. Canceled my subscription.

I joined a few weeks ago and I am very disappointed. The handle is nice, but the blades are not good. The first swipe of the blade will completely use up the moisture strip, the edges of the razor are not rounded and will scratch your legs. This is a one-use razor. I tried to use it again and it would not take off any hair. One of the replacement blades rusted after just one use. Because you have to use a new blade with each use, this is a very expensive razor. The quality is not as good as a disposable BIC.

Hi Jen, we are sorry to hear about your experience with blades. We’d be happy to send you a couple of our 5 blade system razors for you to try out and if you like them better you can change your plan. On account of the rusting, we always recommend to store the razor with the blades facing up and not down, since keeping them in a wet spot definitely speeds up the rusting process. A dry blade is a happy blade 🙂

I love angel shave club. I started with the 3 blade razor and it was a good shave. I talked to one of the team members and discussed switching to the 5 blade instead. They sent me a free sample and it is hands down one of the best razors I have ever used. Needless to say I switched my plan to the 5 blade. Great customer service.

I signed up. I have been looking for a razor club and interested to try the 5 blade. Cheaper then buying them at the store.

So i decided to sign up. I already buy the $9 plan from DSC so i figured i had nothing to lose. I don’t have any issue with DSC right now but just wanted to compare.
Who knows i might like these better.

Update:
i like it better than DSC. Even though its 5 blades other than 6 i feel that angel shave razor gives me a smoother closer shave. Plus it’s nice to have an option of blade color and great quality blades for just $9

Also don’t forget Harry’s Razors. I LOVE their razors and their customer service. I get such an excellent shave from them.

You can get a free trial (razor body, blade, shave gel) if you pay the cost of shipping ($3 in US). More blades are $2 or less, depending on how many you buy.

If you haven’t tried 1-800 Razors, you should give them a try. Of all of these discount shave companies, their razors are the best so far.

I think I will stick to DSC.

Same here. Their CS is top-notch and I love the razors.

I’m trying this with the coupon. I don’t like the DSC 4X four blade razor so I was using the Executive sometimes which is their six blade for $9 a month. I’m hoping the Angel Shave Club five blade will be similar and maybe better than that.

I can’t help but keep hearing in the back of my head “pink razor tax” reading this review. For example: a FOUR blade set with four cartridges a month is only $6 from Dollar Shave Club (two months being $12). The two blade ones with 5 cartridges is you guessed it – $1 a month.

I don’t know – I’m not one to point out gender bias and spew words of equality but this is so blatant I can’t help it.

I was a dollar shave club member as well and the 2 – blade razor is not $1. They charge shipping so it is actually $3. Still cheap but not a good shave at all. Angel Shave Club is the same price as DSC. They have a 5 blade with a trimmer for $9 a month and DSC is $9 a month as well. Plus the handle at Angel Shave
Club is really nice all metal handle not a cheap plastic handle. Not here to bash DSC because I think they are great and I was a member for a year but ASC is a women owned company that supports women’s causes which is why I support them.

I have to agree, I thought this sounded a tad pricey compared to DSC. :/
