WHITE WILLOW JUNE 2016 - info 1

Each box comes with an info card detailing the items inside.

WHITE WILLOW JUNE 2016 - INFO 2

I love how they show each item and their variations, too.

WHITE WILLOW JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 1

Eyes by ToGoSpa Ice Water Collagen Gel Pads – 3 pairs, Value: $12.50

I’m familiar with these eye masks because they seem to be everywhere in subscription boxes. I think this is the first time I’ve tried this particular kind, but I like them alright. They’re definitely cooling (and you can refrigerate them before use to make them extra so), and are good for de-puffing and dark circles.

100% Natural Certified Organic Maple Syrup from Culinary Team Canada – 1 oz Value?

This syrup is a “gift” from Culinary Team Canada, who apparently are competing for a gold medal at the World Culinary Olympics in Germany this year. I love “real” maple syrup so this is a nice little bonus for me.

WHITE WILLOW JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 2

Cake-Shaped Towel by Cotture Towel – Value: ~$12.35 USD

This washcloth is interesting. It’s just folded up to look like a slice of cake. It’s 100% cotton, though, which I like. I don’t really care about this looking like a cake but a spare washcloth will get used around my house.

Foxy’s Gourmet Savory Dips, pesto – 3.2 oz, Value: $6.95 USD

This is a mix to make pesto (which I love, and is also amazing on fresh-baked French bread like is suggested on the info card).

WHITE WILLOW JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 3

Here’s a better look at the little washcloth. It’s a cute novelty thing when it’s folded up, and when it’s unfolded it has a cake-heart and the words “cake family”.

WHITE WILLOW JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 4

16 oz Flip-Top Define Infuser Bottle – value: $19.99 USD

I know many of you subscription addicts are groaning at yet another infuser water bottle featured in a subscription box… Part of me is a little, too, but this is a good one as far as quality goes. I like that it’s designed to keep the fruit away from the mouthpiece and that it has a little strap on it, too.

Verdict: To be honest, I’m not super thrilled with my White Willow Box this month. None of the items seem as luxe to me as they generally send out, and I’m not super excited about any of the items, but I’ll use many of them. The value adds up to $51.79 USD so that’s still a value I’m happy with from their curation.

What do you think about White Willow this month?

Agreed, very disappointed with this months box. Does not seem luxe at all.

I loves this subscription to begin with. However it has gone gradually down hill. The products do not feel Luxembourg at all. This last box was so cheap, didn’t like any of the items. If I hadn’t paid in advance I’d definitely be cancelling. The customer service however for this company is amazing, sadly that’s not enough to keep me with a company thats sending out sub par boxes.

That washcloth is way overpriced for what it actually is. I know they calculate some value in the cute ‘piece of cake’ aspect; but, really, it is just a washcloth (to me). It doesn’t look particularly plush so…..

I really laughed at the comment “don’t really care about this looking like a cake.” It’s like the socks that come rolled up like sushi that you can’t ever refold that way… what’s the point? Though, I’d love a [quality] socks ‘n towels subscription box!

I have the Define bottle from popsugar, and at first I hated it because I found it heavy and awkward to tote around, although I liked the strap and the design. Then I realized a few things that redeemed it – you can reduce the size to half when halfway thru- flip it over and remove the fruit layer and divider then put the bottom back and it’s 1/2 the weight and size to carry! You can add fruit at any time (or eat it) by turning it upside down. When using fruit, the filter works very well and creates a mixing action as liquid flows thru. It’s a lot easier to wash because all the pieces come apart – just be careful to replace and tighten all parts and gaskets to avoid leaks. Now I really like it!

I was super-excited for White Willow when I saw their very first box, and signed up right away. They were sold out by the time they got my registration, so I had to begin with the second box, which was superbly curated and had luxe-feeling products. I was happy until this month’s and last month’s boxes, neither of which felt quality or luxe to me, so I have canceled my subscription. I do have one more box coming, however, because their customer service is excellent and kept track that I didn’t receive the first box although I paid for it, and thus have one box owed to me. I would have loved to stay with the White Willow, but with shipping (mine always costs more than what is listed here) and fees, it becomes almost a $40 box, and the last two months have had products that I would have been able to buy cheaply at Ross or Target.

That said, the Define Bottle ended up being very useful as a bottle to mix protein drinks and smoothies– the strainer in the bottle works to mix them very well when the liquid passes through the strainer.

Lastly, a note about the syrup– I would not consider it “real” maple syrup, as it is mostly comprised of several types of sugar with maple syrup only being listed as an ingredient in the middle of the ingredient list.

I hope that White Willow gets back to the quality curation that it started out as so that I can resubscribe.

Initially I was super excited about this box. It was a different popsugar to me, more interesting more unique items, more unique brands. For Canadians this box is great because it ships there and is based there, so I’m guessing shipping would be quicker/cheaper. As a USA subscriber, I would need the total cost of the box which would include shipping to be cheaper then popsugar to subscribe. The brands/products would have to wow me. Its not a bad box, yet for over $40ish now with shipping + the extra $2 ish the credit card charges for international transactions. This box is not worth it to me.

I’m honestly not thrilled with this month’s box either. I just got charged for next month and i need to decide if I’m keeping this or not. Beautiful packaging but it’s alot of money to waste if I don’t like most of the items.

I would have preferred a real piece of cake but it was clever that the towel was designed to fold like a piece of cake.

I saw the picture and got all excited about a treat–womp womp–just a towel.

It kinda was cheap, I am paying to have it shipped to Utah. that shipping is a HUGE cost on top of the Box. and this box was Blah. I was in the market for a define bottle so that part was good, everything else I felt like I was getting ripped off. Popsugar and Peaches + I am getting the Popsugar summer box so I think they will make up for it this month.

the box felt a little phoned-in. But their customer service is still awesome.
My bottle was scratched in transit – not unusable or anything, but disappointing none the less.
I wrote in asking that they wrap scratchable things in bubble wrap, and they responded same day, apologizing and offering an extra item in the next box. We’ll see if they follow through, but I was impressed with the response.
