Washi Buff Box Subscription Box Review – April 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

WBBAPR - 1

Silent Poetry Arts is a crafting accessory shop on Etsy.  At the end of every month, they offer a mystery box filled with 6-9 full sized rolls of washi tape called the Washi Buff Box.  Decorative washi tape can be used in DIY arts and crafts.  You can find inspiration on Silent Poetry Arts’ Pinterest board here.

My April order did not populate, I contacted the owner as soon as I realized I hadn’t received a tracking notification email.  She looked through all the sent orders and we’re still unsure why my subscription order didn’t make the list this month. But, she placed my April order right away and assured me my May box would also be arriving shortly after. Hey, computers make mistakes too.  🙂

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Washi Buff Box never comes with an insert card.  I’d love to know more about where the washi inspiration comes from and the names of all the washi tapes.

Silent Poetry Arts – Bright Red/Coral Watercolor Lips Stickers – $3.00

Super cute!  I’m sure to use these in my planner somewhere, maybe for date nights.  I’ve seen these in the shop, so I’m glad to have a set to use!

Here’s a quick look at all the tapes together.  They were all shrink wrapped individually which is great if you want to wait to open it or plan on gifting it out.

WBBAPR - 9

Dark Grey/Lime Green Floral Washi Tape – $3.00

This one is so pretty!  It reminds me of wallpaper or an old pattern for a dress.  I can’t wait to use it.

WBBAPR - 10

Hot Pink/Off-White Triangles Washi Tape – $2.75

I’m a big fan of triangle washi tape, they bring pops of color to any planner or project.  I’m also a little partial to the color pink, so, yeah,  I love it!

Bloom Where You Are Planted Quote Washi Tape – $2.25

I consider this to be seasonal washi tape.  I’ll try to get some use out of it before the seasons change, but I honestly doubt that I’ll run out anytime soon.

Aqua Blue Faded/Opaque Branches Washi Tape – $2.75

Originally, I believed the color was faded from the sun, but it turns out that’s the way it’s made.  I don’t have anything else like it!

WBBAPR - 14

Multi-Colored Chevron Washi Tape – $3.00

I didn’t find this available for purchase online.  I’ve linked a very similar colored washi tape in the Silent Poetry Arts Etsy shop. This pattern and color combination reminds me of outfits from the 70’s and tie-dye t-shirts.

WBBAPR - 15

Raspberry Pink/ White Polka Dots Washi Tape – $3.00

I purchased this washi tape a few months ago during a sale.  It’s one of Abigail’s go-to tapes, so I’m super excited to see a back up.  It’s very pretty and I love using it too.

WBBAPR - 16

Verdict:  This past April, Washi Buff Box had an estimated retail value of nearly $20.00!  This is a really great value for washi tapes. Silent Poetry Arts has a wide selection of washi tapes for sale at reasonable prices.  Depending on the brand name and/or shop, you can pay as much as $6.00 for a single roll of tape.  We love utilizing washi tape in paper projects with the kiddos and I use a ton of washi tape in my planners.

  1. Are you only able to order during a certain time period in the month? I’m confused on how to sign up

    • I was starting to think I was the only one having trouble.

    • Hello Melissa and Allison!! I reached out to Lindsey about this as well. I tried to wait to submit the review when the link was reactivated, but it was already getting way too late. I believe she takes the link out while there is an active discount code, but I really don’t know. I’m hoping it will be back soon too, I need to renew my subscription before next month.

      • Melissa and Celicia,
I just subscribed so hopefully you guys luck out too.
