Info Card

The information card was pasted into the lid of the box. Each product and value was listed on the card.

Lip Balm

Swatch

Pacifica Coconut Kiss Creamy Lip Butter (.23 oz.) – $10

This lip butter smells awesome and has a super sheer natural looking color to it. This is a full size product and I really like the Pacifica brand.

Savina Nail Color – $7.50 (Amazon)

Savina nail color is formulated to be formaldehyde, toluene and DBP free. Love the pink color and this item is also full sized!

Body Butter

Whish Body Butter (.75 oz.) – $4

This body butter is super moisturizing. I love the almond scent. It’s a travel size tube and it’s made with organic aloe and organic shea butter.

Mani/Pedi Brush – $2.50

I think this a great addition to a tween/teen beauty box. The brush comes in handy for cleaning their nails and has a nice little cover to put over the bristles.

Ice Cream Nail File – $1

Isn’t this the cutest nail file you’ve ever seen?! Love it!

shampoo

Yes to Carrots Shampoo and Conditioner (1.5 oz. each) – $3

These shampoo and conditioner are trave sized and are for normal to dry hair. They both smell great. These are petroleum, SLS and paraben free. My shampoo sample was only 2/3 full, but there was nothing leaked in the box so I’m not sure what that was all about.

Verdict:  I’m really happy with the The Better Beauty Box and I think it really meets an underserved demographic. I like that the products are more natural than many beauty boxes and that it’s more focused on skin and hair and not makeup so much. I think this would make a great gift for my nieces! I asked our family friend Dani to weigh in on this box since she’s a teenager and she thought it was adorable and liked the assortment of products.

What do you think of this month’s The Better Beauty Box? Which product was your favorite?

Jessica’s addiction started off slowly enough with Birchbox, but it has grown and grown over the last three years. An elementary school librarian and mom of two she loves boxes that are child-centric. But she’ll never turn down a good fashion, beauty or tasty treat subscription.

  1. I would love this subscription with makeup. I know I would get any bright red or hot pink or dark purple lipsticks. If this was 10 or 15 I would get a box now and again.

  2. This seems like a nice box. I’m not a teen but I would use all of the products in this box. I’ll see what next month’s box has and may subscribe.

  3. What a neat box. I’m old enough to be the demographic’s mother, but I try to keep my makeup and skincare light and natural. If next month’s is similar, I will likely subscribe.

  4. I like the concept and having two vegetarian daughters in this demographic, I’m the perfect audience for this box. But I don’t like that it’s a rather low value. I feel that boxes that include makeup need to have a value which is at least twice the price, as makeup colors may really not work for you.

I would consider subscribing if the box was $15.
