STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - BOX

3.5 overall rating

Stitch Fix is a monthly styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences, and then your personal stylist sends you 5 items to try once a month. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

Each box comes with cards with styling suggestions for every piece, plus a little note from your stylist.

STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - INFO 2

And this is my invoice sheet. It lists the prices per item and the discount I’d receive by keeping all 5 items. With the 25% discount and my $20 styling fee factored in, this box would cost me a total of $221.50 to keep everything –$44.30 per item.

STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 1

Urban Expressions Elisha Zipper Accent Structured Satchel – Cost to Keep: $64

I asked my stylist to help me find a mid-sized tote that could work as a stylish diaper bag. I think this bag is pretty cute (and I love that it has the metal feet on the bottom), but I’ve already bought a cross-body bag and a clutch in this mint color from Stitch Fix, and I just didn’t care for the zipper accents, personally.

STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - ITEMS 2

Here’s a look at some details. I love the pattern of the lining!

STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - items 3

Market & Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee – Cost to Keep: $44

Liverpool Callista Printed Cuffed Denim Short – Cost to Keep: $58

I loved this outfit! I had seen the shorts on some other Stich Fix reveals/reviews, and requested them. I love them and kept them! The tee is great, too. I love grey and it’s super comfortable. Unfortunately, $44 is just too much for me to spend on another plan tee shirt right now. I’m a little sad about sending it back but I think I can likely find something comparable for less.

STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - items 4

Tart Shania Knit Maxi Dress – Cost to Keep: $98

I love love this dress. The length was really perfect and it’s flattering and flowy. I just can’t spend almost $100 on another maxi dress right now! But this was so comfortable and flattering.

STITCH FIX JUNE 2016 - items 5

Renee C Jordie Abstract Chevron Print Maxi Skirt – Cost to Keep: $58

I think this skirt is really pretty, but I didn’t care for the fabric. It was a little thick for summer, and there was a lining, too, even though it didn’t go all the way to the bottom of the skirt. I liked this, but I knew I didn’t love it so I sent it back, too.

Verdict: All in all, this was a good fix. I love that my stylist has been able to grant requests lately (like the shorts, and I had asked about a maxi skirt and a tote bag), and I think everything is my style and fit great! I kept the shorts, and I love them.

I know that requesting specific items sometimes slightly takes away from the styling service part of it, but I think once in a while it helps me try something I think I’ll love, and it probably also gives the stylist a little more look into the kinds of things that catch my eye! In my opinion, as long as you don’t get mad when a request isn’t sent to you, and you see that it can help your stylist just to know the kind of thing that you’re looking for, then it’s okay.

I wish you could keep that dress! It’s perfect on you. And perfect things don’t come along every day. Also, it’s classic in its lines, so would last years. Very nice blog.

Personally, I don’t think 98. is too high for a dress that looks that good, and that you will continue to wear for years…

$44 for a gray tshirt? No thanks.

Doesn’t the print on the dress, and the lining in that bag look REALLY similar?
Or was I the only nerd who noticed… >_>
Dress looked awesome on you BTW! 🙂 Thanks for the great reviews!! 🙂 I always love reading your posts 🙂

That dress does look great on you. I hope I get it in my Fix next week! I asked for casual dresses and skirts for the hot weather. I love that Market & Spruce tee too, I got it in a fix over the winter. That skirt is super cute, too!

I used to really enjoy Stitch Fix, but my favorite stylist must have moved on, and the ones since have been really disappointing. I wind up thinking they’re never reading my notes from previous months, because they keep sending me “on trend” stuff much like pieces that I’ve rejected before with detailed feedback about why I would never wear them. I finally discontinued my scheduled Fix after a number of let-downs.

Haley, you always looks gorgeous! Keep that dress! It looks like it was made just for you! Thanks for posting all the pictures. You have inspired me to work harder to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. ?

That’s so sweet! Thank you so much. I’m still working on my own goals for where I want to get my body, too. It’s so hard that it takes time and consistency! I skip eating bread at a restaurant once and I just expect to suddenly turn into Giselle or something! Lol. Keep at it, lady! I’ll be right along side you. =]

The maxi dress looks soooo beautiful on you! The other pieces are okay but the maxi is amazing. It really does suck that it’s so pricey. Maybe wait until it goes on sale?

Stitch Fix rejects people over size 16 so I will give them no business when I do lose weight

I love the maxi dress more than those shorts on you. That dress is a huge win! You should have kept it…..sucks the price was so high

I agree! That maxi dress looks like it was made just for you.

I’ve had no luck with stitch fix. I see all the nice pieces sent to bloggers and I keep on pinning them on my Pinterest board but I always seem to get the rejected pieces. I’ve stopped subscribing and went back to shopping for myself.

Charina, my stitch fix account is under my personal email and information. Stitch Fix doesn’t know I’m a blogger/with MSA, and they give me no special treatment! =] I’m sorry you have had such misses with stitch fix! I would maybe email the company and tell them this, and ask for a different stylist. Getting a different stylist made a world of a difference for my boxes. I have also heard other subscribers say that they have been offered their styling fees back when they told SF they have had bad boxes, especially more than one. Hope this helps!

I think a lot of these companies figure out we are with MSA. I have gotten a few emails from various boxes mentioning my reviews. So far I have no cause to suspect any special treatment, and I do have an unusual name that would be easy to look up in a subscriber database, but I think they can figure it out a lot of the time, if they try.

Charina

Thanks Haley, to their credit SF did give me a styling fee credit after a one particularly bad and off box. But for me this service just doesn’t work. My frustration was with me not getting the pieces I pinned on my board.

Tracy

That maxi dress looks DIVINE on you!!! Too bad the price tag was so high.
