Included was a two-sided, full-color brochure containing information about the products. It was so big, I really couldn’t photograph the whole thing and have it still be readable. But it is a good, informative card – one of the best I’ve seen for a subscription box.

rawbox-june-2016-butter

Dastony Watermelon Seed Butter (8 oz) – Value $12.99

This is unusual. I did not like it used in place of peanut butter on a sandwich, but it was all right with some seedy crackers, so that is how I will use the rest of it. It is kind of bland but there is a kick or aftertaste to it that has me a little puzzled.

The Wonder Seed Facial Scrub in Water Lotus (2.7 fl oz) – Value $14.95

I’m familiar with this brand because of Vegan Cuts. It has jojoba beads for exfoliation (so it’s pretty gentle) as well as azelaic acid, which is good for breakouts. I use a ton of facial scrubs so I’m happy to get this.

rawbox-june-2016-cleaner

Veraclean Natural Antibacterial Cleaner in Quality Thyme (16 fl oz) – Value $9

I never have to buy spray cleaners any longer thanks to RawBox. I find this one pretty good for the bathroom counter (where I get a lot of water, powder from makeup, etc.) but not as much for soap scum. This will get used up, though, for sure!

rawbox-june-2016-bites

Elloraw Cinnamon Sugar Donut (2 oz) – Value $4.99

I like these so I’m happy to see them, but I think this is the third time we’ve received them from RawBox. Might be nice to at least get a different flavor for once.

Barnana (1.4 oz) – Value $2

This is another product I’ve seen in subscription boxes before (though not RawBox, I think). I like most banana-based snack so these will get eaten. (The only ingredients are banana and banana powder so they should be good for people with allergies.)

rawbox-june-2016-bars

Simple Squares in Coconut (1.6 oz) – Value $2.50

I don’t know if I’ve had these before or not. Something about them seems familiar. What I liked here was that this had a much better texture than most bars containing raw nuts. (Note that this contains honey so is not vegan.)

Rawxies Lemon Poppyseed (1.5 oz) – Value $2

I’ve had Rawxies cookies many times thanks to subscription boxes. But, they have a uniquely good texture for raw cookies and the lemon poppyseed is probably my favorite flavor of them.

Nutrawbar in Whole Fig (1.4 oz) – Value $2.83

This is new to me. It has only three ingredients (figs, almonds, coconut oil) and has a texture similar to a date bar but a slightly different flavor due to the figs.

rawbox-june-2016-powders

Juvo Organic Raw Meal in Green Apple (1.4 oz) – Value $2.64

Juvo Organic Raw Meal in Fantastic Berry (1.4 oz) – Value $2.64

Juvo Raw Meal is a staple in RawBox. I do use these products in smoothies but think I’m a bit more of a fan of standard chocolate and vanilla. Still, I like never have to buy protein powder because of subscription boxes!

Amazing Grass Green Superfood in Detox & Digest (4 x 0.25 oz) – Value $5.86

This is only available at Whole Foods so I based the price on other products from the same company. Unfortunately, this is a big miss for me. While I do like most Amazing Grass products and find them a convenient way to include more greens in my diet, this variety contains garlic. I once put one of these into a smoothie (have gotten them from RawBox before) and wondered why my smoothie tasted so foul. Garlic doesn’t go with chocolate, berries, and PB2!

rawbox-june-2016-literature

There’s usually some product literature and/or a coupon in Rawbox, as well.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $62.40 for the June 2016 RawBox. That is well over the cost of the subscription, which is wonderful for a box containing a lot of food. I was a little bummed about getting so many repeats, but raw foods and related lifestyle products are a pretty small niche, so it must be difficult to come up with new items each month. Overall, this is a box with a consistently high value and is probably a good fit for most vegans and vegetarians, even if they are not specifically following a raw lifestyle/diet.

Great review! Glad to learn of another gluten free sub option. I haven’t been wowed by the offerings of other companies, but this looks like a good one to try.
