Dogs Unleashed Absorbent Pet Bowl Placemat (16 x 28) – Value $7.97
If I can convince Nyx not to chew on this, it will actually be really helpful because she spills water all the time.
Cobble Creek Pet Backseat Car Cover – Value $8.98
Nyx goes to the vet every week for laser pain treatments (she has torn ligaments in both knees). So a backseat cover for the car is useful. I have one now that has really saved my car’s interior. This one had a strong chemical smell so it is in the garage airing out right now. I will use it when I have the other one out for cleaning.
Zanies Neoprene Flex-a-Flyers (large) – Value $15.99
Nyx doesn’t understand frisbees. I guess because she can’t run around outside (see above re: torn ligaments in her knees). And they are hard to pick up off the carpet. So I will pass this on to someone with a non-orthopedically-challenged dog to enjoy. But, this is an item in current production from the manufacturer, so that is nice.
Petstages Orka Stick for Medium/Large Dogs – Value $6.98
Nyx enjoyed this quite a bit. She liked both the rope and the plastic part and she didn’t even destroy it. It looked a little small but it seemed safe enough to give as long as I was supervising.
Red Barn Naturals Sweet Potato Fries (16 oz) – Value $13.49
These are grain free, vegetarian, and additionally free of wheat and soy. In other words, there is a slim chance that Nyx will actually do OK with these. I will put these in the lineup to test out. It is quite a large package and does not expire for some time!
Wholelife Tail Mix Carrots and Apples (2 oz) – Value $2.50
These are made in Massachusetts and are grain free. I’ve seen this brand in other boxes, as well, and these were not expired and not near expiration. However, they are flavored with chicken so Nyx can’t have them. They will be passed on to another dog to enjoy.
Kikkerland Talking Mustache Keychain – Value $4.99
Pet Treater always includes a random “for your human” item. This mustache keychain is what I got for June. I had been having a bad week and when I first played this, I was laughing for five minutes until tears were streaming down my cheeks. I really needed that.

Nyx enjoyed this a lot and she didn’t even destroy it. She’ll get to play with it again!
Verdict: I calculated a value of around $61 for the June Pet Treater dog subscription box. That’s a bit low for Pet Treater but still well over the cost of the box. I could actually find every item for sale on line and most were still in production by their original manufacturers, plus the treats were good for 6+ months (over a year in one case). The only downside was the smelly car seat cover but I am pretty sure that will be fine in a couple of days. This was one of Pet Treater’s better months for me.
