Paper + Pen is a stationery subscription box that ships 3-4 paper goods and supplies delivered to you monthly! My Paper + Pen subscription arrived in a bubble mailing envelope. All of the items were nicely wrapped in tissue paper when I opened it.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Big Paper Jotter Notebook by Night Owl Paper Goods - $8.00

Calling this 'big' is a misnomer, but perhaps they are referring to the fact that Paper is in large letters?Anyhow, this is a super cute tiny notebook that is printed and hand assembled in the USA - in, get this - Owlabama. So cute! The pages are blank and the outside cover of the notebook is made from birch wood. I love this!

Check List Notepad from plan d - $3.00

This is going to come in handy - I have so many little to-dos during the day that I need something to keep track! I use Wunderlist currently and I do like it, but sometimes I just prefer paper. I know, how old fashioned of me!

PP4

My Pencil Case - $3.95

This is really cute. I received a white pencil pouch with a black zipper. It seems like it will hold up pretty well and the design is very minimalistic. I think I might stuff this full of college essentials for a graduation party I have to attend this month for a cute gift.

Two Mechanical Pencils - $4.00?

These are mechanical pencils that look similar to a 'normal' pencil. The mechanism to move the lead out works well and so does the eraser. These will be put to use for sure.

Geometric paperclips - $1.00?

These are cute paperclips - they're sort of geometric but also look similar to a water droplet. I will enjoy using these.

Verdict:  The value of this Paper + Pen shipment comes out to about $19.95 if my estimates are correct. This month is definitely higher than last month and I enjoyed all of the items just as much as I did last month's. I really like the curation of this box and if you're in to stationery, it might be worth giving it a try. Just keep in mind that the values are generally lower than the cost of the box.

Have you tried Paper + Pen yet? What do you think?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I think you overestimated this month and last month. I like subs because I feel like I’m getting more bang for my buck. I’m just not seeing it here even though a couple items are super cute. Maybe I’ll purchase just the item I want. Hmmm, maybe that’s their purpose here. Afterall, you don’t need to “sample” a notebook. You see it and you love it or hate it.
